Circa 1840-1850 Chinese Export Blue Canton Round Tile. This tile measures 5 1/4" in diameter. These tiles were used as protection for table tops from hot teapots. They also came in square, square with chamfored corners and octagonal shape. Few are seen in Blue Canton but we have never seen one in rose medallion, rose mandarin,1000 butterflies, fitzhugh, cabbage leaf, sacred bird and butterfly or other 19th century chinese export designs.   « Less
