Antique Appraisal
Having an item appraised before you buy or sell is always a good idea when the amount of money involved exceeds $1000. For items of lesser value it can be difficult to realize the value of an appraisal because good appraisals are not cheap. Expect to spend between $150 and $350, depending on the item and, of course, when transactions rise into the tens of thousands, new metrics apply. Antiques.com does not offer online appraisals and in general, we don’t recommend them. There are always exceptions, but when dealing with a valuable item a good appraiser will want to see the item and hold in their own hands.
