A delightful Worcester sparrow beak jug decorated in the printed underglazed blue Fence pattern. A nice clear print with no blurring and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a little roughness to the footrim base and a few minute nibbles to the ends of the petals. A fine small little jug complete with its lid. Marked with the Worcester hatched crescent to the base. The jug measures 10cms high and 12 cms overall including the lid. A fine C 1770 Worcester sucrier together with its cover, beautifully gilded and decorated with festoons of husks and pattera. The gilding is without any wear at all. The gilding is as bright and vibrant today as when first applied 240 years ago. Apart from one small chip to the edge of the cover there is no other damage or restoration. The Waiting Chinaman pattern is quite common and very popular on Worcester tea wares, this is the Caughley hand painted version which is very rare. I am offering this wonderful teabowl and saucer with a beautifully clear handpainted scene of a Chinese figure standing by a fence to the collectors of rare Caughley. There is a very fine hairline to the saucer which appears to come from a small firing flaw on the back, this is barely visible on the front. The teabowl has a small very tight hairline to the rear of the main pattern low down. There are no chips or restoration. The glaze is typical Caughley being silky smooth. A very fine early example of a Worcester Butterboat handpainted in underglazed blue with the `Butterboat Mansfield Pattern` On this early example the painter has taken great care with the pattern with a more even distribution and finer painting. The moulding of the geranium leaves are nicely detailed compared to some I have seen. In fine condition with only the faintest hint of a hairline beside the handle, this does not show even with a bright light and is impossible to photograph needing very close inspection to spot. Crucially on this superb little butterboat there are no unsightly chips or restoration. Marked with a Worcester 3 dot workmans mark. Measures 8.5 cms long x 3.5 cms high.
