This is a wonderful pair of antique cast bronze double-arm Arts & Crafts sconces with shades, circa 1905. Each sconce features a rectangular, cast bronze backplate with beveled edges. A squared arm extends from the center of the backplate, supporting a squared double arm that supports two shade holders, each ornamented with a quartet of bronze bands. These would be a superb addition to any Craftsman bungalow. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 9 ½” tall, 11” wide, and project 5 ½” from the wall. This is an unusual pair of antique cast bronze pocket door plates, circa 1880’s, featuring a rippled background and abstract designs. The top and bottom of each plate features an asymmetrical design. These plates appear to be a rare variation of the “Arabic” pattern by Mallory, Wheeler, & Co. They are in very good antique condition. Each pocket door plate measures 2 ¼” wide, 8 ¾” long, and 5/8” deep overall.   « Less

From the Capuli cultural complex of the highland region of Colombia, ca 850 to 1200 AD, pottery chalice with round base and squared top, decorated in complex negative resist patterns of concentric circles, step patterns and dots and coils and other geometric forms. Corners cut-out in stepped pattern. 6"H x 5-3/4"W, intact and generally excellent with small chip at one corner and another at base. A very attractive vessel of most unusual form! Ancient Pre-Columbian Figure from South America, Colombia region, Quimbaya culture, ca. 500 - 1400 AD. Terracotta hollow-molded standing male figure with hands held to chest and rectangular shaped head. The eyes and mouth are long horizontal slits while the large nose is realistically modeled. The septum is pierced to hold a now-missing nose ring, perhaps one of gold or copper. 7-1/8"H, intact/in generally excellent condition and a rare form.
