This is a handsome and beautifully patinaed Buffet made from solid selected walnut during the second part of the 19th century. The walnut used to build this item is originally from Burgundy, one of the wine areas in France. This interesting piece consists of a rectangular contoured top sitting upon a 3-drawer frieze mounted with the original handles above a central door embellished with medieval accents and flanked by side doors adorned with acanthus rosettes. Note the tapered turned fluted columns separating each door and completing the look. The interior compartment is very spacious and provides a single shelf. This is a graceful and elegant side table made by the middle part of the 19th century during the reign of Napoleon III. This adorable piece is consisting of 3 serpentine shaped shelves, the upper one is mounted with pierced bronze gallery and acorn shaped finials, connected to each other thanks to 4 nicely scrolled cabriole legs accented with bronze ormolus. Note that each shelf is beautifully embellished with inlaid floral patterns combining several types of veneers as mahogany, rosewood, walnut and sycamore. An outstanding Worcester slop bowl with the popular printed Birds in Branches pattern together with a rare hand painted border. The majority of tea wares with this pattern come with no border or two blue lines it is unusual and rare to see this border. Reference Brandon, French and Sandon Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751 - 90 Second edition page 354 - II.B.21 This bowl can only be described as perfect. The print and hand painted border are beautifully clear. A little stray blue in the bottom of the bowl but this has not resulted in the pattern blurring. A small overglazed chip to the inner footrim.
