For Sale is a lovely piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Snowberry" and the shape is a large Console Bowl. The Bowl is quite large as it measures roughly 16" wide outside handles measurement and 7 1/2" deep and 3 1/2" Tall. The inside oval opening is 11 3/4" wide, this the 12" mark along the bottom.
The Bowl depicts very Nice clusters of White Berries with a handful of Detailed Green Leaves on Brown winding branches adorning the top edge of the Bowl on both sides. There are open applied buttressed triangular shaped handles on each end. This is set against a Matt Country Blue Glaze with Rose hues. This is the largest of the Console Bowls in this Style in this Snowberry Line.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. The piece is signed with "Roseville U.S.A. 1BL2-12" in raised relief signature and shape number. This is a large Console Bowl and would look just great on your Dining Room table. It is very hard to find this size with no damage. I am happy to report that there is none. For sale is a lovely Art Pottery vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Teasel" and it is done in their highly collected two toned tan/brown background Glaze. This Pattern is one of Roseville's harder to find to collect. The shape is known as a "Rose Bowl" and it stands 4" tall and is 7 1/4" in diameter outside handles measurement. The inside rim of the Rose Bowl is 2 7/8" in diameter.
The Rose Bowl has a very pleasing Tan background glaze with a Caramel Brown foot and lower 1/3 of the bowl. The pattern depicts a pointed weed looking Teasel on long stems. This pattern is on both sides with one side having 2 teasels and the other side only having one. The Bowl has 2 applied closed handles that resemble ears. The inside of the bowl is very clean and shows a light tan glaze.
The Rose Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks nicks, chips or dings. There are a few minor glaze pops in the glaze. The Rose Bowl is signed on the bottom with the incised "Roseville" cipher along with the pattern number "342-4". You do not commonly find this pattern in the North East and leads me to believe that this pattern is somewhat rare. This Rose Bowl was made Circa 1938. « Less

For Sale is a nice piece of pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Tourmaline" and the shape is a Low Bowl or could also be used as a Bulb Planter. The Bowl measures approximately 2 3/4" tall and is 7 7/8" in diameter at the widest part or belly of the bowl. The inside rim of the bowl of measures 6 1/8" wide.
The Bowl displays a wonderful mottled pink glaze at the bottom half of the vessel that softly blends into a pastel sage green toward the rim that is also mottled. The interior of the bowl is also mottled green that was evenly applied. The shape is very versatile and can be used in many different decors. This particular glaze combination works best with Art Deco however can also be used in an Arts and Crafts decor. This would be stunning holding your decorated Easter Eggs and show off some Spring colors. The mottles of the green glaze appear soft and puffy like cotton candy and the pink portion appears to be more of a sponged application for a very nice affect.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is one pin pop on the interior of the bowl but do not detract from the beauty or value of this hard to find glaze combination. The piece is extremely clean and appears to have never been used.
The bowl is unsigned but guaranteed to be vintage Roseville. It is shown in the books to be shape number A152-6. The A signifies that this shape was used in an earlier line from Roseville which would have been Carnelian 1 and can be found in the "Roseville In All Its Splendor". This pattern is from Roseville's Middle Period and introduced Circa 1933. « Less

For Sale is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Brush McCoy Company of Roseville, Ohio. The shape is a large double handled footed Grecian Urn shaped vase. The Vase More »
For Sale is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Brush McCoy Company of Roseville, Ohio. The shape is a large double handled footed Grecian Urn shaped vase. The Vase is quite large as it stands 8 7/8" tall and is 8 3/4" in diameter outside handle measurements. The opening or mouth of the Vase is 3 1/4" in diameter on the outside rim.
The Vase depicts an all over Mottled Green Frothy Glaze that is outstanding. The form is a Classic Green Urn shape but there is an Arts and Crafts flare to it. There are the tops of raised vertical panels dropping down from the ring at the neck of the vessel. There are 2 applied handles that rise out of the mid section and rise up to this ring. These handles resemble a "Goose Neck" with its head turned backwards. This Vase sits on a ringed round foot.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. I really cannot find any excuses for this wonderful large vase. This is a superb example of this form and Glaze. I have never seen another one like it.
I am not 100% sure this was made by Brush McCoy either. I had 1 other person tell me that it could be a Monmouth Pottery piece. In my research I was unable to document this form but I was able to document the style of the handle and that is what led me to believe this is an early Brush McCoy Vase. This style of handle was used by Brush McCoy on several documented pieces. I welcome anyone's opinion that may know something different. I have shown this to the best Pottery people in the business and they are not sure who made it either.
This Vase would look outstanding in any Mission, Arts and Crafts, style of decor. This Vase was made Circa 1900-1920. « Less

For Sale is a nice piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Silhouette" and it is in a Paneled Ewer Shape. This piece of Pottery has some size as it stands 10 1/2" tall, 5" wide outside handle measurement and 4 1/2" deep.
The Ewer displays a very unique brown background glaze with some green over spray at the bottom of the 4 sided platform. There are 2 Panels, Front and Back, that displays a Waterlily Flower in full Bloom with a Cattail Rising up behind it. These are set inside of panels with vertical ribbing. The pattern is done in raised relief. This is a very pleasing pattern and will work with most decors, especially Mid Century Modern. The opposites sides are smooth with one sided having an attached triangular handle. The Ewer has the daintiest spout for pouring water.
The Ewer is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. There are a few areas of lighter glaze imperfections but nothing obtrusive. It is extremely clean and appears to have seen minimal use. The Ewer is signed on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A." and the mold number 717-10" in raised relief. There is also the letter "B" written in a Blue Ink or Grease Pencil and a impressed "34". This was more than likely a finishers or Artist initials and inspection #.
Those of you who collect Silhouette Vases and want an excellent example both in form and glaze should not let this one pass by. This is a stylistic influenced Ewer with a sleek Art Deco Style. This Ewer was made Circa 1950 just after World War II. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by the Terra Cotta Tile Company (TECO) of Terra Cotta, Illinois which was near Chicago. I have a beautiful Matte Green Orb Bud Vase. This vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands about 4 1/2" tall and is 4 3/4" in diameter at its widest point. The top opening is 1 3/8" in diameter outside measurement.
The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is signed twice on the bottom with Teco's infamous "T" with the "eco" underneath the right side of the T. There is also the numbers "25" written in green glaze. This form also has the indented ring where this mark lies. This is the sign of an Original Teco as the Fakes do not have this same bottom. The exterior bottom underside edge is ground smooth and is very similar to Hampshire Pottery's method of finishing the pieces of pottery.
Teco exemplifies pottery of the "Prairie School" Arts and Crafts movement of which Frank Lloyd Wright made so popular. In 1886 the Gates Pottery was established as a subsidiary with William D. Gates as its president. Gates used the facilities to experiment with clays and glazes in an effort to design a line of Art Pottery which led to the introduction of Teco Pottery (TErra COtta) in 1902. This is a quality piece of Art Pottery made by one of the Arts and Crafts Movement most important Potters. Teco competed heavily against Grueby and Fulper for this once flourishing market.
This is a rather hard to find shape as the collectors don't let these go. This piece of Teco is known as Shape # 25. This piece of Teco is considered early as it was made, Circa 1902-1910. « Less

For Sale is a very nice Arts and Crafts Designed Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Glaze is known as "Bedford Matt Green" and it is an outstanding in this form. I call it a Buttressed Ringed Snake Pot cabinet Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 3 5/8" tall and has a diameter of 3 3/4".
This Vase displays a wonderful deep frothy matte green glaze accented with char coaling and veining. This Glaze is very similar to Hampshire's Cucumber Matte Green Glaze and I suspect that Weller created the Bedford Matt Green Line to specifically compete with them. The Shape is an outstanding Arts and Crafts Form. It has four Vertical Buttressed Feet that rise above the top edge. It has a ribbed ringed top neck and bottom border on a Snake Pot form. This form has eluded me for years. When found these usually have major damage and I am happy to report this has none.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned but it has the Painted Green Glaze on the bottom. This is a tell tale sign of unsigned Weller in the Bedford Matt Line. This Pattern and form is well documented in the Weller Pottery Catalog. The Bedford Matt Line was considered an early line by Weller Pottery Circa 1905-1920.
Those of you who decorate in the Arts and Crafts, Mission Style will surely welcome this fine Arts and Crafts Vase into the home. It will also enhance any Matte Green Art Pottery Collection. This would look outstanding with anyone Decorating with Gustav Stickley or Mission Arts and Crafts Style Furniture. « Less

For Sale is a very nice vase made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is known as "Bedford Matt Green" and it is an outstanding example. I would call this item a "Flower Frog Planter or Squat Vase. The planter has some size to 2 1/4" and is 8 1/8" in diameter.
This Squat Vase displays a very Mottled Matte Green Glaze accented with char-coaling. This Glaze is very similar to Hampshire's Cucumber Matte Green Glaze and I suspect that Weller created the Bedford Matt Green Line to specifically compete with them. The Shape is a very pleasing one as it can also be used as a center piece bowl as well.
The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned but it has the Painted Blue Green Glaze on the bottom side. This is a tell tale sign of unsigned Weller in the Bedford Matt Line. Those of you who decorate in the Arts and Crafts, Mission Style will surely welcome this accessory into the home. It will also enhance any Matte Green art Pottery Collection. This would look outstanding with anyone Decorating with Gustav Stickley or Mission Arts and Crafts Furniture.
I have been a dealer/collector for the past 39 years. This is the first time I have ever seen or owned this particular form. I would consider this form to be quite Rare!! I'm sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. The Bedford Matt Line was considered an early line by Weller Pottery Circa 1905-1920. « Less
