Limoge porcelain ewer. This is another excellent example of Victorian Aesthetic Movement porcelain. This dramatic French jug has bold purple lilacs waving among green and gold leaves on it's front and dragon flies playing on the back side. The shape and design of the handle is Egyptian Revival in feel. The back round color is cream and the handle is gilded. There is also brushed gold accents including the rim of the spout. Signed T & V on the base for the French maker Tressemenn & Vogt, mark 4a. Good original condition, with some wear to the gilded handle. Extraordinary set of twelve brilliantly colored floral plates. Each plate is a garden filled with poppies, pansies, cornflowers, too many bright flowers to list Around the delicate edge of these plates, framing them to perfection is a heavy bright brushed gold rim. The plates were imported by Ovington Brothers, a well known New York retailer and were made by H &Co. ( Haviland Co.). They are also marked England which is a mystery to me because Haviland was an American company that made it's porcelain in France (Limoge). Excellent original condition, with no visible wear. Very fine, irregularly shaped Royal Worcester bowl. This unusual flower decorated bowl features a naturalistic, undulating rim, gilded in a heavy gold. The back round color is your typical Royal Worcester cream with brightly colored, graceful flowers and lots of gold accents. This is as nice a piece of 19th century English porcelain as I have seen. Superb reticulated bowl in an 18th century Chinese export style by the famed Parisian imitator Edme et cie Samson . Samson was renowned in the 19th century (1837-1913) for imitating all the best porcelain made in Europe and China. This double handled bowl is a wonderful example of the skill he was famed for, with steep sides and flared rim, all with pierced, basket woven open work (reticulated) and decorated with an Armorial crest in the center of the bowl and flowers and wreathes on the sides and rim. There is also raised white enamel delineating many of the design elements, gilded rope handles an lots of gold trim. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Large pair of "Vienna Style" painted mantel vases. Each vase features a different dramatic painted scene in a large oval panel and a second smaller front panel with a white back round and scene in gold of a swan on water. Each vase also has several other small white with gold panels. The basic back round color is a jewel toned red with lots of gold decoration, much of it raised. The large panels are beautifully done with very fine color and detail and are signed " Lisbel". Very good original condition, with wear to the gilded top rim on one, the second vase has a tight hairline crack and filled small chip to the flared rim. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Large, beautifully decorated Royal Bonn vase. This lovely piece of 19th century German porcelain features large brilliantly colored flowers, all outlined in gold.
