This is a Magnificent Clock from the end of the Regence Period made by Jean Baptist Raymond Lenoir in Paris during the first half of the 18th century. The Regence period started after the death of Louis XIV at the beginning of the 1715 up to 1723. Louis XV being too young, a Regent named Philippe D’Orleans ruled the country. This stunning brown tortoiseshell veneered bracket clock is typical from this time period with a sumptuous and intricate embellishment of cast bronze ormolus and brass inlaid following Boule’s Design. This clock is signed by Raymond-Jean-Baptiste LENOIR named “the Oldest” being the older brother (nickname Raimond) born on March 7th 1702 in Rennes, and deceased on April 3rd 1780. This piece is good working order but a clockmaker might be necessary to level the mechanism after transportation. Everything is in original condition. A beautiful set of 6 massive dining chairs made from solid oak by the middle part of the 20th century. Each chairs consists of a tall and arched seatback standing upon a large seat supported by a pair of boldly sculpted baluster legs connected to the straight back legs by straight bars that insure stability and sturdiness. Note that the previous owner covered the chairs with burgundy simili leather and also replaced the springs by more recent ones making this set ready to use. Circa date 1950. This is a stunning and elegantly simple Buffet made from solid mahogany by the end of the reign of Louis XVI. This lovely patinaed piece is topped by its original Var Orange Marble, which has been repaired at some point sitting upon an adorable façade featuring a 2-drawer frieze above a pair of recessed paneled doors revealing a large storage compartment with single shelf, all standing on tapered turned legs on cast bronze sabots. This 23" pine carving is really well done! Little shepherd boy has a sweet, young face with serene expression. With only his hooded, sheepskin cape to keep him warm, he stands right at the fire. This carving has been broken along his backside and repaired clumsily many years ago, so we rate his condition as fair from the back, good from the front!
