Early 1920s
This beautiful starboard-side lantern was made by Perkins Marine Lamp. Inc., which was formed in 1916. The "Perko" trademark was instituted in 1922, and it is believed that this lantern dates to that period. For nearly 100 years, Perko has had a well-deserved reputation for producing high-quality marine lanterns, chart cases, signaling devices, etc. This lantern, made of heavy-gauge brass, copper, and galvanized sheet metal, was hand-formed and soldered; the close-up shots show both the solidity and the craftsmanship of the piece. It bears a glass lens of deep green glass, denoting that it was displayed on the starboard side of the ship. This stunning, masculine lantern-- which will easily accept an electric fixture -- can be hung, wall-mounted using the original integral bracket, or displayed on a table top. Or track down its port-side mate and put them to use on your yacht! « Less

Probably France.
Late 19th - early 20th century
This powerful male bronze depicts a man, standing atop a small rocky outcrop, who seems to be partially bound by thick rope. The features are very finely modeled, and inscribed into the base of the bronze is what appears to be either a name or number; we haven't been able to determine which. « Less

Believed to be Italy or France.
19th century
This beautiful pair of decorative brass ewers features woodland scenes of rampant Bacchanalian excess. Hurrah! They include finely-modeled grape leaf clusters and rams-head motifs, and the ornate handles are topped by winged putti. The ewers have been weighted and sealed, so they are decorative rather than functional. Should the buyer choose, it is assumed that these could be drilled and turned into a striking pair of lamps. « Less

France or Germany
19th century
This "Gansenmannchen", or "Little Goose Man", is a charming bronze of a peasant holding a goose under each arm, modeled after the famous fountain in Nuremberg, Germany. The fountain featuring the "Little Goose Man", was sketched as early as 1500 by Albrecht Durer of Nuremberg, Germany's most beloved painter. In 1537, Pankraz Labenwolf set up a foundry in Nuremberg, and created the fountain from about 1550 to 1560. This sculpture stands atop a bronze base with cold-painted red accents. « Less
