This is one hot holiday red dress from the late 1950's early early 1960's. It is red velvet with an almost empire waist as it has a strip of fabric and two button. The dress buttons along the back. The label is Caldwell original and it says size 10. There are some condition issues. A couple of small nicks in velvet and 2 dirt spots. (that could possible come out with a gentle cleaning) However, to us when looking at the dress you do not notice it. Priced accordinglyHowever, We need to mention it because it is not perfect. The fabric is interesting to the touch as it is thick yet just right to flatter the body. It is loaded with beautiful colors and embroidered all over in a gold thread. It is almost like a mod quilt but lighter. It is fully lined and has a metal zipper on the back. There is an incredible large rhinestone buckle at the bust line/upper waist. Morton Myles black and gold dolman sleeves dress. USA, Featured is a Morton Myles Black dress with gold embroidered details along the neckline and the dolman sleeves. It has a tie belt. Excellent condition. (the pictures were lightened to show details. The dress is a true black the light color coming through fabric is the mannequin showing through..not faded!). History of the designer: Morton Myles worked with Herbert Sondheim and Larry Aldrich before starting his own business in the early 1960's. He gained almost instant celebrity in 1961, when Jacqueline Kennedy wore his blue sleeveless linen dress on the cover of Look magazine for a family photo with President Kennedy, Caroline and newborn John-John. Mrs. Kennedy had purchased several of his designs while her husband was still a senator. Morton Myles maintained offices on 7th Avenue in New York until his retirement in 1994. This is a FANTASTIC green taffeta dress from the late 1940's early 1950"s. The bodice has a wonderful neckline with black sequins and gather slightly at the bust. There is a highlighted shoulder bow made of another type of fabric with sequins. The dress has long sleeves. It hasa side metal zipper. It has a fitted waist and a full skirt with white linen material underskirt to give it fullness. The back of the dress has a self covered buttons and a big bow. (the buttonsand loops are for appearance and do not operate as closures for the dress). Two hidden side pockets. Love the sound of taffeta! There are a couple of steam marks that one can see only close up Refer to last two photos. Otherwise in excellent condition and ready for that holiday party! Good Luck bidding!
