This is Ming dynasty, Wanli period deep polychrome large swatow bowl. It stands on a short foot rim with a recess base. From the foot rim, it everted slightly and upwards, and then towards a mildly everted mouth rim. The flattened centre of the bowl depicts the drawing of a very artistic “Hai Ma” shown crossing the sea surrounded by bellows of waves. On the cavetto, there are nine panels of some form of flowering plants while there are eleven panels on the outside of the bowl. This is a shipwreck item. The polychrome color has worn off on some places with minute marine soil calcification especially on the green part of the color. It does not affect the aesthetic of the bowl. There are also manufacturing faults, pinholes and hairline cracks. There is no repair or restoration. Overall, it is in good condition. This is Ming dynasty, Wanli period deep polychrome large swatow bowl. It stands on a short foot rim with a recess base with a double red circle in the centre. From the foot rim, it everted slightly and upwards, and then towards a mildly everted mouth rim. The flattened centre of the bowl depicts the drawing of the “Hai Ma” shown crossing the seas with bellows of waves. On the outer circle, it is a combination of a series of sea waves and four large waves. Incidentally, the position of the waves could also represent the four directions of North, South, East and West, thus representing the “Tian Ma” galloping round the four seas. Quite aptly for an export Swatow polychrome bowl. On the cavetto, there are eight panels of some form of flowering plants while there are nine panels on the outside of the bowl. This is a shipwreck item. There is a small broken piece which has been re-attached, as shown in picture 5. The lower picture in negative form shows the re-attachment outline in red colour. It can only been seen at a certain angle and does not affect the aesthetic of the bowl. The polychrome colour has worn off with minute marine soil calcification especially on the green part of the colour. There are also manufacturing faults, pinholes and some sand grits. This is a circular copper scholar’s ink box with etching of a love poem on top of the cover. It has three seal ark on it, one on the extreme right and two just below the two below the name of the author. On the base of the ink box, there is also a seal mark likely to be that of the manufacturer. It also comes with the original used ink cake. Circa. late Qing to early Republic period. It is in very good condition with the exception of the welding lining at the bottom casing which is not noticeable at the bottom left side(see picture 3). This is a Yuan dynasty celadon vase with a three claws dragon and a phoenix motif flying in the sky. The phoenix is very elegantly engraved with a beautiful body, with a pair of wide spreading wings and with the tail floating in the sky. The celadon vase stands on a short splay shallow recessed foot rim. From the foot rim it everted upwards into a bulbous body with short step shoulder and then everted upwards to a slightly flared up mouth rim and the with a high lips which is slightly everted inwards. The foot base shows a deep orange-red clay colour. Generally, the celadon vase is in good condition. There is a high degree of abrasion, wear and glaze fritting all over the body, as shown in the pictures. There is no crack, repair or restoration. Overall it is in very good condition. Please note that the pictures here could not completely depict the actual colour of the item, which is more towards a darker and duller olive colour. This is a freely painted swatow dish with a pair of mandarin duck and flower spray in the centre of the dish, with tendrils around the shallow cavetto and flowers in cartouches on the rim with diaper boarders. The glaze is opaque, thick, and covers the body and foot. There are sand grits around and inside the base of the foot rim. Cir. Late Ming dynasty, 17th century. There is no hairline crack, glaze fritting, chip, repair or restoration. Wear to part of the paint as clearly shown in the photographs. The centre is uneven with minor depressions. This is a Northern Song - Jin dynasty cizhou sancai dish with incised lotus design, with green and brown colour enamel. It stands on a short foot rim and then everted into a u-shaped body. The centre of the dish is incised with a single lotus flower with a large open leaf below it. The lotus is painted with a shade of brown colour on the inner side and the outer side a dark cream colour. The lotus leaf is painted in green colour with brown shading on the inner side. The design is surrounded within two circles, with the outer ring painted in green colour. Oxidation has given the buff color dish a ting of pinkish bloom to the ground color. There is no crack, repair or restoration. There is abrasion, bubble burst and glaze crazing which is quite normal for item of this age. Overall, the lotus design dish is in good condition. . This is a Yuan dynasty qingpai or yingqing octagonal shaped vase with a cover. It stands on a small flat base rising to a octagonal shaped body and then towards a straight short neck and small mouth rim. The body is divided into three horizontal sections. The octagonal shaped body is sandwich between two horizontal bands of moulded relief of lotus leave. The octagonal body is moulded with alternating moulded relief design of lotus plants with flowers and that of sunflower plant. From the inner body, it can be seen that the vase is luted vertically from two equal half. Only minor abrasion pin holes and manufacturing faults and hairline crack on the glazing as shown in the photograph, otherwise no major crack, repair or restoration. Overall it is in good condition. The body is curved with two vertical sets of scroll within a double band.. Only minor abrasion especially on the mouth rim, pin holes and manufacturing faults as shown in the photograph, otherwise no chip, rim fritting, crack, repair or restoration. A large and nice jun yao bowl of sky blue colour. It stands on a short recessed foot rin and then everted upwards towards a slightly straighten side and then towards the rim it folds slightly inwards. There is a slight colour variation between the actual bowl glaze and the photograph taken. In good condition. No repair or restoration, there are abrasion, minute bubble burst, pin hole and minute glaze fritting. The measurement of the jun yao bowl: The diameter is 18.5cm and the height is 7.2cm.
