Highly collectible! Old ''Pastis Berger'' pitcher from Marseille, France. You can see on photo, a very little chip on the top part. Pastis was first created as an alternative to absinthe once the ban on absinthe production was enacted in France in 1915. Pastis has the same anise heavy formula, however it is made without wormwood (the banned substance) and is much lower in alcoholic volume. The word ''pastis'' is the French term for ''mixture''. It is most usually consumed diluted with water and is immensely popular in France during the summer months. h-7.5''/ w-7.5''/ d-4'' For the shipping...don''t worry, we ship from Texas (not from France)! Sometimes called "Pagodaware" by collectors, these darling little ball shakers feature the Japanese art of moriage, most commonly seen on Dragonware. This vibrant blue 3~piece set is in excellent condition, in fact, I would be surprised to find they were ever used at all. The tray, 5 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide, features floral embossed handles and two recessed areas in which the shakers will sit. The shakers are about 2 5/8" in height at the handles and have screw~on lids, not corks. All three pieces are hallmarked in red "Japan" as shown on the back of the tray. « Less

The crest of nesbitt in the center enclosed by a gilt belt with the motto JE LE MAINTIENDRAI within the typical quartered decoration. This wonderful platter is of a small group of services made for the British market in 'orange Fitzhugh', a pattern much more closely identified with the Americans who dominated the China Trade in the Federal Period.
