For Sale I have a very nice set of candlesticks made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Cornish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The Candlesticks each measure approximately 3 5/16" tall and the bottom foot is 4 1/8" in diameter. The Candlesticks displays a very Pleasing Matte Mottle Blue Background Glaze. It has embossed leaves with a stem with berries hanging from the concentric ring that surrounds the lower neck of the Candlesticks on the front side. The leaves have an outstanding Green Brown life like Glaze. The berries are a deep blue and cranberry. The back side is plain and displays this wonderful Blue Mottled Glaze. This pattern has eluded me for many years as collectors don't let go of this pattern too often. The Candlesticks are considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is some Glaze imperfections and misses along the bottom edge where the Glaze appears thin. These are Factory as it was made this way. There is some crazing in the neck of each stick. There are also some red candle wax specs in various areas on each stick. I have removed most of them. The pictures show some of the Red Specs on the top side of 1 of the sticks. These do come off and are of no concern. Each candlestick is signed on the bottom with the incised Script "Weller Pottery" cipher mark along with the letter "D" in black ink on one and the letter "H" on the other. This was more than likely the Artist's or finisher's mark. Those of you who collect this Weller pattern will enjoy this form into your collection. The Cornish Pattern is a hard to find Pattern by Weller. It used to be plentiful but the collectors hand on to these nowadays. The Candlesticks are probably the hardest to find in the Pattern by Weller. I'm sure the lucky buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. These Candlesticks were made Circa 1933. « Less

For Sale I have a Lovely Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Cornish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The Vase is known as a Squat Shape. The Vase stands 3 1/8" tall and is 4 3/4" in diameter outside handles measurements. The Vase has a very pleasing and rare Two Toned Brown Glaze Combination. It is almost like Weller Goldenglow Glaze except it has Two Tones of Golden Brown. The Vase displays embossed leaves on a stem with berries hanging from the concentric ring that surrounds the neck of the vessel on the front side. The leaves haven an outstanding Green Brown life like Glaze. The berries are a light blue and deep blue/black. The back side is plain and displays this wonderful Brown Two Toned Glaze. This pattern has eluded me for many years. When I have come across items in this pattern, they always seem to have damage, so I never buy them. I am Happy to report this one Does Not!! The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are signs of use as there is a Calcium deposit ring on the inside of the Vase. This cannot be seen when displayed. It can also be removed by using 400 grit or higher wet sand paper. You lightly sand the raised portion while running it under water and it will come right off. The outside is very clean and sharp!! The Vase is signed on the bottom with the incised Script "Weller" cipher along with the Script letter "B" in black. This was more than likely the Artist or finisher's mark. Those of you who collect this Weller pattern will welcome this example and Rare Glaze for this Pattern. I have been a dealer and collector for some 35+ years and I have never seen Cornish made with this 2 Toned Glaze. This vase will work with that Mission Arts and Crafts Style Home. It would look just great sitting on that Stickley Bookcase. This Vase was made Circa 1933. « Less

For Sale I have a very nice piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Flemish" and it is extremely popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. The shape can be considered a Planter, Ferner or Bowl. The Planter 3" tall and is 6 1/8" in diameter. The Vase depicts a Garland of Roses that are glazed in a Deep Mauve to Salmon Pink. The Garland is glazed in a Caramel to Cedar Brown with Green as well as the background. There are Leaves that are surrounding the flower clusters and they are done in an Olive to Moss Green. The Pattern is a documented "Roma" Design but the Glaze is unmistakingly Flemish!! The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are minimal signs of use as there is NO Calcium deposit ring on the inside of the Vase. It appears to have been taken care of during its life. The Vase is unsigned as it the case with Flemish pieces. More than likely it had a Paper Label at one time and simply fell off with cleaning. Those of you who collect Flemish, Woodcraft or Alvin will welcome this addition to your collection. This is a very beautiful Planter or Ferner. It would also work well in any Arts and Crafts or Mission setting. The Vase was made Circa 1913-1928. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by The Weller Pottey Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Wall Pocket and the pattern is known as "Glendale". The Wall Pocket measures 12 1/2" long, 6 1/4" in diameter and is 2 1/4" deep. The Wall Pocket depicts a naturalistic scene of a mother Bluebird with her three hungry chicks sitting in a nest. The mother sits watchfully on a nearby branch amongst flowers and leaves. The colors and detail on this piece are just fabulous. There are no glaze runs to make this piece the slightest bit distorted. It is a Cornucopia shape shape which gives substantial height to this gem. The Glendale pattern is fairly difficult to come across and the Wall Pocket even more so. The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is very minor crazing that does not detract from the Wall Pocket at all. The piece is unsigned except for the mark "11X" written in grease pencil which is most likely the finishers mark. The Wall Pocket was made Circa 1920-1925. « Less

For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Malverne or Malvern" as it is spelled both ways. The Shape is considered a Double Handled Planter or Jardinière. The Planter is a good size as it stands 4 1/2" tall to the top of the Handles and 6 7/8" in diameter outside handles measurements. The Planter Displays wonderful Raised or Embossed Leaves that have a Twig or Branch attached on a Fern or Tree Bark textured background. These Branches on each leaf rise from the leaf up to the Top and Form the Two Looped Handles on each Side. What a Nice Organic feel this Pot has!! The Glaze is another story in its own. The lower background has a very pleasing Dark Mauve Mottled background Glaze with the Top Half being a Mottled Green Fern Colored Glaze. The Branches are done in a Matt Black Glaze. The Interior is as beautiful as the Exterior. It displays a Mottled Pea Green at the Bottom to a deeper Mottled Fern Green at the top. This Glaze is simply Gorgeous!! The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Pieces is signed on the bottom with the Incised "Weller Pottery" written in Script Signature Mark. There is also the number 12 written in Black Ink or Glaze. This was more than likely the finishers number. Those of you who collect the Malverne Pattern and want an excellent example both in form and Glaze Combination should not let this one slip by. The piece was made Circa 1927-1933. « Less

For Sale I have a Delightful Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is known as "Patricia"and the form is a Double Handled Vase. It is a good size as it measures 6 5/8" tall and is 8" wide outside handles measurement. The Vase displays Geese Heads for handles and has embossed leaves surrounding the vessel. This vase has just an outstanding glaze. The vase displays a mottled beige background with Moss Green on the Ferns, the Heads and Necks of the Geese along with a crystalline over-glaze. The mottling in the background is just outstanding!!. There is also some Sage Green on the Geese Bills as well as by the center cluster of leaves. There is also some Crystalline Speckling throughout to finish off this exquisite piece. This Vase is somewhat rare as much of the Patricia Line was made into bowls and is usually found in White or Blue. This one is not! It is a Vase with a Great Glaze which makes this much more desirable. The Vase is considered to be in Excellent condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. There Isn't even a few pin pops in the glaze. This piece is signed on the bottom with "Weller Pottery" incised in cursive. This wonderful mottled speckled glaze is even on the bottom. The Vase shows minimal wear and I would suggest that it was packed away for many years or only sat in a Cabinet with other collectibles. This Vase is an excellent example both in form and in Glaze combination. This Style of Art Pottery would look great in any Arts and Crafts, Mission or Country Decor. The Vase is from Weller's Late Period. The piece was made, Circa 1935-1948. « Less

For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Vase and the pattern is known as "Silvertone". The Vase More »
For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Vase and the pattern is known as "Silvertone". The Vase measures 8 3/8" tall and is 8" in diameter outside handle measurements. The opening in the neck of the Vase is 2 3/8" wide so it could hold an elaborate bouquet of flowers.
The Vase depicts Red Poppies in Full Bloom set on Branches with Leaves adorning both the front and back of the piece. There are two applied handles on each side that are twisted starting at the shoulder and ending at the waist. They are gnarly and meant to simulate the branches that these lovely flowers are growing from. The Leaves are a soft mint Green and these are set on a swirled Lavender background. The rim of the Vase is Flared and Ruffled giving it a feminine presence. The Glazing of this piece reminds me on an Impressionist style painting.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is one rough spot on the bottom edge that I have shown for a close up in Picture # 6. This is a factory flaw or rough spot and is only shown for accuracy. It does not detract from the beauty of this Vase. The piece is signed with Weller's half kiln Ink Stamp along with the letter "A" which is the artist signature.
This Vase is from Wellers Middle Period, Circa 1918-1935. « Less
