This is a chinese peking glass bowl of emerald green with a band of white mouth rim, butteflies motive and lotus lappet at the base. The butterfly is an embalm of joy,freedom and conjugal felicity. It is also a symbol of summer. The lotus lappet is regarded as an embalm of summer and fruitfulness. The flatten base has the seal mark of Tongzhi and of the period. A nice five mountain green glaze five mountain brush stand. This piece would make a nice fengshui for businessman as it has a very significant and symbolic meaning. The first is the four coins, which is a symbol of wealth and prosperity is back by a huge mountain, which means your wealth is as solid as the mountain. The flowers signify beautiful and abundance which means abundance of wealth, growing like the flowers. Second, behind the mountain brush stand is three symabol of longveity and a swastika in a circle above it. Third, looking from the side angle (photo 3 and 4), it looks like the fingers of Buddha. This is a famille jaune glaze bowl used for auspious events such as birthday and joyous occassions that calls for celeberation. In the center of the bowl, it has five wufu or bats surrounding the character longevity, all in copper red colour. It has a six character seal mark dated to Guangxu reign. This bowl is possibly dated to the early 20th century and of the period. Generally in good condition. A manufacturing flaw as shown in picture 4, a small hole and a nick to the foot rim which is not visible unless you feel it. No hairline, chip or repair. A nice and finely potted famille rose covered teacup dated to the Tongzhi period. It has a scene of a garden with flowers, grass and butterlies flying. A red Tonzhi reign mark to the top of the cover and base of the teacup. Generally in very good condition. Minor pinholes. No hairline, glaze fritting,crack, repair or restoration. This is nice and large Shou bowl dated to Kangxi (1662-1772) period. The Shou bowl stand on a short footrim, with recess based and then everted upwards. The base has a hand painted private kiln seal mark that can be dated to the Kangxi period. Both on the outside and cavetto of the shou bowl, it is surrounded with tibetan scripts. In the center of bowl, it has a large charatecr of Shou surrounded by a circle of ruyi and within a star. While it is common to find the shou style in the same design in plate form (see Diana cargo), it is more difficult to find them in the bowl form and therefore it is more scarce and harder to come by. This piece is acquired from a private collection. The bowl is in very good condition,with the exception of some minor pin-holes. No repair, chip, hairline or fritting. The glaze is in excellent condition too. The Shou bowl is in very good condition. The diameter of the bowl is 20.3cm (8") and the height is 8cm. A nice piece of Ming dynasty blue and white bowl of a pair of Foo lion dog chasing after the rattan ball with ribbons. In the center of the bowl, it has a symbol of a swastika in the form of clouds. It stand on a short foot rim with a recess base and then everted upwards. This is a nice piece not to be missed as such good quality bowl are hard to come by It has only minor chips at the rim as shown in picture 5 (one chip) and 6 (two chips) which are not very noticeable. Such chips are considered common for bowl of this period. The chips does not affect the aesthetic of the bowl. Other than that, the usual manufacturing fault which is minor. No hairline crack, repair or damage and the glaze in very good condition. The bowl can be considered to be in very good condition. It gives a good tinkling sound when given a tap. This is a very beautiful multi-colour Peking glass vase representing longevity. Starting from the cover, the finial is in the form of a close lotus bud in cobalt blue. Surrounding it are butterflies inter-twaining with the clouds. On the body of the vase, it is represented by a collar of ruyi around the mouth of the vase, in cobalt blue colour. Below the ruyi is a ring of cloud also in cobalt blue colour. Then below the cobalt colour ruyi is the qilong, crane, peaches, ruyi, pine tree, plaintain plant, lemon finger (which represent the fingers of Buddha), prunus flowers and lotus plant. The colours are cobalt blue, green, turquoise, amber, pink and ruby red. It has a honorific Qianglong reign mark. Cir. 19th century It is in good condition. This is a finely potted 8 lobed qingbai ewer from the Yuan dynasty. It stand on a flatten base with a sunken centre. On the base, there are also 4 iron brown spur mark. The good quality glaze with a tinge of bluish hue suggest that it could be from the Hutian kiln, the most famous kiln complex in the Jingdezhan area. With the exception of some abrasion and a black spot (pic 5) on the body due possibly to the ash flake, the 8 lobbed qingbai ewer is in very good condition. It does not affect the aesthetic of the qingbai ewer. Nice piece for the discerning collector of qingbai ware as such a piece will be hard to come by again.
