French silver and ivory salad servers. These would date from around 1930s-50s. French silver marks are Minerva's head 1 for .950 silver (above sterling quality silver) and the maker's mark of H & Cie. on the handles. The lower part from the ferrule down is marked with the hog's head for .800 silver. The tines and spoon are ivory. Clear schreger lines, particularly on the fork tines. Total length is 28 cm. Condition is very good - the ivory is stained dark with use - all that olive oil and vinegar - and there is a tight split line on the top of the tines near the silver join. (Inactive, won't affect their use). The silver is in very good vintage condition. (For use: never wash in very hot water, and never put into a dish washer).   « Less

Ancient / Antique Solid Silver :Extremely RARE novelty Aztec / Asia Spoon Mould? An extremely rare antique novelty solid silver Spoon Mould? possibly South American Aztec theme or Asian. We got this in a house clearance more than 30 years ago hoping to see something similar but we never have so it has sat in a drawer until now and this is the first time we have had it on the market. The inside of the bowl could ? be a mould we thought but are unsure. Clearly the item is antique possibly ancient (we are happy to help and answer all questions within 24 hours usually), we cannot see any markings on the item and it weighs just under 3oz. The item is very well made with a cast finial and the bowl is of good thick grade. If anyone can direct us to a source for this we would much appreciate it and would add the information to the listing. The item looks fantastic cleaned (should have done it before photographing sorry about that but we are extremely busy at present doing shows). Very pretty set of 6 sterling silver teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs, in their original box. Full English hallmarks for Sheffield, 1901. Maker's mark is W.R. & Co (for Wingfield Rowbotham & Co). The teaspoons are each 11.8 cm long. Ornate stem and finial. Box is lined in crimson velvet and silk. It also carries the crest of Wingfield Rowbotham & Co. The silverware is in excellent condition. Sterling silver. It has a full British hallmark for Sheffield 1901 in the last year of the reign of Queen Victoria, and the first year of the reign of Edward VII - was possibly a coronation souvenir. Sterling silver creamer (also suitable shape for a sauce boat) - hallmarks for London 1808. Maker's mark is possibly I.W. Lobed sides with an engraved crest of a winged dragon on each side. Squat shape on circular foot, with the remains of gilding to the interior, and a pretty scroll and flower embossed pattern to the rim. Measures 8.6 cm high and 14.5 cm handle to spout. Attractive silver lipstick holder, dating 1930s-40s. German .800 silver, with lovely design of acanthus scrolls and flowers. Top pulls out, and releases spring-up mirror. The locking button to this is also the push-up button for the lipstick. There should be a gemstone or piece of agate in the button, but this is missing - you could replace it with something of your own choice. These little kits were what the sophisticated woman would carry with her for touch-ups of the lippy. Square form case, measuring 1.8 cm square, and 5.6 cm long.
