For Sale I have a beautiful piece of Art Pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The shape is considered a Jardinière Vase and it is done in Van Briggle's most desirable Mulberry Glaze. The Vase stands 3 3/4" tall and is 4 1/2" in diameter.
The Vase displays a very pleasing Arts and Crafts Design of "Stemmed Raised Leaves". These Stems start at the bottom and rise to the top with a Leaf at the end. The Shape is similar to a "question mark" symbol. The Vase shows a very deep rich Matt Maroon Glaze with a Blue overspray on the raised or embossed leaves. The form is very nice and the detail is good.
The Vase is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The only issue is there is crazing in the Glaze. This is very common with the earlier Mulberry Glazes. The piece is signed on the bottom with Van Briggle's Incised Double Conjoined Logo and "VAN BRIGGLE" in Block Letters along with "U.S.A." underneath that. This clearly dates this piece to be 1922-1926 as Van Briggle used the USA incised signature mark during that time period.
Those of you who collect Van Briggle in the Mulberry Glaze will surely welcome this early addition This was known as Shape #695 in the Van Briggle Catalog Pages. This is a very nice example and I'm sure the Buyer will be happy with their purchase. « Less

For Sale I have a very nice Art Pottery Vase made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Item is a Tall Vase and it is done in Van Briggle's Popular Two Toned Blue Glaze. The Vase stands 8 1/16" tall and is 3" in diameter at the shoulder.
The Vase has wonderful Arts and Crafts Pattern of Embossed Vertical Leaves. These Long Tall Leaves start just above the foot and rise up to the lower neck of the Vessel. The detail and crispness of the leaves is just splendid. The Vase displays a wonderful Two Toned Blue Glaze. The background of the Vase is a Sea Foam Blue/Green that is accented with a Country Blue overspray at the top portion of the Leaves. I believe this Glaze is called Turquoise Blue or Ming Turquoise.
The Vase is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips of dings. The piece shows signs of use as it is a little bit dirty inside the vessel and has a piece of Florist Foam attached to the very bottom. Along the bottom edge there is a minor glaze miss in one area. The Vase is signed on the bottom with Van Briggle's Incised Double A logo for Artus and Anna Van Briggle along with the Block Lettering "VAN BRIGGLE COLO. SPGS". The Vase has a dirty bottom which helps date this piece to the late teens early 1920's.
This is a nice early piece of Van Briggle in a very desired Glaze. It is known as shape number 863 in the Van Briggle Catalogue. I'm sure the buyer will be pleased with their purchase. « Less

For Sale I have a spectacular example of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is the ever popular "Baldin" and the items are a Jardiniere and Pedestal. The overall height of this lovely combination is 31 7/8" tall and the Jardiniere is approximately 13 1/2" in diameter at the widest point or belly of the planter. The Pedestal is 23 1/4" tall. The Jardiniere and Pedestal depicts a Naturalistic Tree form for the Pedestal with the Jardiniere representing an Apple Tree at Harvest time. The bottom of the Pedestal is a warm earth tone Brown graduating and blending with Greens towards the top to represent the foliage. It even has open handled branches towards the top for a realistic affect. There are a few ripe apples surrounding these branches that are Red with portions of them accented with Greenish yellow tones. The Jardiniere has an all over pattern of embossed Leaves and Apples also glazed in the Earth tones and the color and details on this set is just magnificent. The Jardiniere and Pedestal are considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. Both pieces are signed with the impressed Weller Block signature. The Jardiniere has two separate Artist signatures, one on the bottom which is, I believe, MR for Marie Rauchfuss. The second signature is impressed near the bottom and shown in picture number 9 and appears to be a "RL" for Rudolph Lorder. He was the Artist at Weller that Created the "Baldin Line". There are felt squares applied to both the bottom of the Jardiniere and Pedestal to help protect from chips or dings and do not affect the value. This Jardiniere and Pedestal are sure to become one of the Lucky Buyer's favorite pieces. This pattern is referred to Baldin in most of the books but I have seen reference to it being Flemish. It also has strong similarities to Woodcraft and Alvin so it is very versatile for pairing with one of these alternate collections. This piece would work well in any Mission, Country, Adirondack or Arts and Crafts decor. I have listed shipping fees at $100.00 however this is an estimate as it depends on the zip Code as well as box dimensions. This will be shipped in two separate packages and the fees will most likely be between $75.00 and $100.00 fully insured. The box measurements will be oversized and can only be shipped UPS. « Less

For sale I have lovely Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Baldin" and the piece is just delightful. The Vase measures 5 13/16" tall and is 7" in diameter. The opening has a diameter of 4".
This Vase has a wonderful Blending of Green and Brown, Earth Tone Glazes. The displays several very realistic looking Apples. The Apples are hanging from Branches and are Ripe, Plump and some are ready for Picking. The leaves have very nice coloring in them as well. The Apples are glazed in Red with Yellow and slight hues of green. I believe they are Macintosh Apples or "Macs" as we say here in the Northeast.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a couple of pin pops and glaze misses but they are common in this glaze and do not detract from its' beauty. The bottom has rough spots where the Vase sat. This is common with the Baldin Vases as that happened when it was fired. The piece is signed with Wellers' Block Letter signature.
This Weller Baldin Vase has some wonderful coloring and detail. I'm sure the lucky winner will not be disappointed with their Purchase. This Vase will work in any Mission, Arts and Crafts or Country Decor. In Fact, I think it will work with most decors including primitives.
The Vase was produced during Weller's early Middle Period. This piece was made Circa, 1915-1920. « Less

For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. It is a Wall Pocket and the pattern is Blue Drapery. The piece is 8" tall and is 4 3/4" wide at the top of the Wall Pocket and it is 3 1/8" deep.
The Wall Pocket displays a dark blue Drapery or Curtain background adorned with a Garland of Roses and Leaves in the center of the piece. The Roses are glazed in a Dusty Rose color with Sage Green Leaves. There is a flared rim at the top and this would be a wonderful piece for displaying dried flowers or Sweetheart Roses.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Wall Pocket is signed with the Impressed Block "WELLER" Letters. There is also a number "15" written is freehand in marker. There is light crazing on the back of the Wall Pocket however there is none visible on the front.
The piece has a Victorian Flair to it but would also work well in any Country Decor. The Wall Pocket was made Circa 1915. « Less

For sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. It is an Oblong Sectional Vase and the pattern is Blue Drapery. The piece is 4 1/4" tall and is 5 13/16" wide and is 3 1/16" deep.
The Vase displays a Country Blue Drapery or Curtain background adorned with a Garland of Roses and Leaves in the center of the piece. The Roses are glazed in a Dusty Rose color with Sage Green Leaves. There are three sections or partitions in the Vase and this would make a great pencil or toothbrush holder or you could use it for what it was originally made for which is Flowers.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Vase is signed with the Impressed Block "WELLER" Letters. There is also a letter written is freehand in marker but is was smudged in the making so it is illegible. The piece has a Victorian Flair to it but would also work well in any Country Decor. The Vase was made Circa 1915. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The form is a Flower Vase and the pattern is "Clinton Ivory". The Vase measures an impressive 9 3/4" tall and is 4 1/16" wide at the rim. It has a Base diameter of 4 11/16". The Vase depicts a flowing Art Nouveau pattern throughout that resembles "Griffins" facing each other on both sides of this wonderful piece. I believe these are leaves but they also resemble an Elephants Trunk when the Vase is turned sideways, empty of course. There is a Scroll type of decoration at both the top and bottom portion of this vase. The pattern is done on a Cream Background with an Olive Green to Cinnamon Glaze that was probably rubbed or painted on by the Artist. The Artist would have then wiped the Vase with a cloth to take away these darker colors from the High Spots thus leaving behind the residue in the lower relief areas. This helps to bring this Delightful Design to life by giving it detail without adding color. The Vase is in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. It does have crazing which is very common for this particular Glaze and does not detract from its beauty. The piece is signed with the "WELLER" Block Letter Impressed Stamp however only it is somewhat obscured by the Glaze. This Vase was made Circa 1910-1914. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely pottery set made by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pieces are known as a Console Bowl or Frog Pond and Flower Frog from the ever popular "Coppertone" line. The Console Bowl measures 3 11/16" tall to the tip of the Frogs head, approximately 10 3/4" long and 7 1/2" deep. The Flower Frog is 2 3/8" tall, 3 3/4" long and 3" deep. The Console Bowl has a watchful Frog perched ready for the next insect to fly by or ready to jump in the water. There is a Waterlily Bud next to him with Great detail and Glaze colors. The opposite end has Lily Pads and a newer Flower Bud coming into Bloom. The Flower Frog fits nicely in the center of the bowl and is a simulated mass of land with mossy covering to complete the look. There is some wonderful mottling on both of these delightful pieces. The inside and outside have lots of Copper as Pictured. The Console Bowl is stamped very faintly with the Half Kiln Ink Stamp signature as will as the letter "H" or "I" along with the finishers number 12. I have had may Coppertone Frogs with this finishers mark and would say this particular artist was an expert with the Coppertone Line. The Flower Frog is signed also with the Weller Pottery Half Kiln Ink Stamp and the number 12. Both pieces are considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. Those of you looking for an excellent example in both Glaze and Form the "Coppertone Frog Pond" is a must for your collection. The Console Bowl and Flower Frog were made Circa 1925-1930. « Less

For Sale I have a very hard to find piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The piece is a Garden Ornament Fountain Frog and the pattern More »
For Sale I have a very hard to find piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The piece is a Garden Ornament Fountain Frog and the pattern is the ever sought after "Coppertone". The Frog is very large as it measures approximately 5 1/2" tall and is 6" in diameter. It is approximately 6 1/2" in overall length. The Fountain Frog depicts a very handsome frog waiting for the next fly to buzz by for an easy meal. His colors are just great as there is a bright Green mottling over a tan to deeper copper colored background. He has bright eyes outlined with care and the accents on his mouth were carefully addressed as well. He has a circle opening in his mouth for the water to come through and an opening on the bottom for a hose to be inserted. He is undoubtedly a striking prince that would highlight any "Coppertone" or "Frog" Collection. The Fountain Ornament is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There are no chips around either of the working holes and I believe this was a shelf piece and never used for what it was intended to be. The only flaw I can find is a small white glaze miss on his left eye however it has a clear over glaze over it and is not a chip. I have been told these eyes are made of Glass. This flaw does not detract from the Frogs value or looks. The Frog is unsigned except for the number 12 written in grease pencil which is the finisher's mark. This was probably one of Weller's more meticulous artists as I have had many "Coppertone" Frogs with the number 12 written on the bottom. This Coppertone Garden Ornament "Fountain Frog" was made Circa 1926-1929. It is simply amazing the condition this one is in. I am sure the lucky buyer will be elated with their purchase!! The quality of this doesn't get any better. « Less
