For Sale I have a lovely piece of pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Jardiniere or Planter and the pattern is known as "Matt Color". The Jardiniere measures 3 1/2" tall and is 6 3/8" in diameter outside handle measurements. The opening of this little planter is 4 1/8" wide. The Jardiniere is glazed in a soft Robin's Egg Blue or Teal color. It has two applied handles accenting each side and would look great with an African Violet or small plant inserted with another pot as a liner. There were several colors done in this line by Roseville but this is probably one of the more common glazes you see in this form. It is known as Shape number 550-4" in the Roseville Catalog Pages. The Jardiniere is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a small glaze miss on the base which is shown in my fifth picture. Please keep in mind my camera is a 10X Zoom Lens so this appears more substantial than it is. This is factory and does not take away from the beauty of this little gem. It would make an excellent starter piece for a collector or simply a nice addition to someone who collects Matte Color. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Roseville. The piece was made Circa 1920. « Less

For sale I have a beautiful Art and Crafts Style Bowl made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Mostique" and the form is a Bowl or Planter. More »
For sale I have a beautiful Art and Crafts Style Bowl made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Mostique" and the form is a Bowl or Planter. The Planter measures 2 13/16" tall and is 7 1/2" in diameter on the outside. The opening measurement is 5 15/16" wide.
The Planter is accented with Indian Stylized Flowers, Vines, Leaves and Berries. There are wonderful Lilac and Sky Blue Flowers set on dark caramel brown branches. The piece is balanced with Blue Berries and Light Olive to Moss Green leaves. The interior of the bowl is done in a deep green waterproofing glaze. This pattern was created to pay Homage to the North American Indian and the patterns seem to vary.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a very small glaze miss at the rim and is considered factory. There are also a couple of glaze misses on the blue flowers as this is quite common with this Glaze combination from Roseville. This is known as shape number 164-7 in the Roseville Catalog Pages. The piece is unsigned as is the case with the Mostique Pattern Line. The Mostique Pattern Line probably had a paper or foil label at one time.
This Mostique Pattern works splendid with the Mission Arts and Crafts Style of Decor. it would look just wonderful on that Stickley Bookcase. This Planter was made Circa 1915. « Less

For Sale I have a nice piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Silhouette" and it is in a Paneled Vase Shape. The piece of Pottery is good size as it stands 8 3/8" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep. The Vase displays a very unique Blue Green Background Glaze and a Modern Shape. There are 2 Panels, Front and Back, that display a Flower in full Bloom on a Stem or Floral Motif. These are set back into Panels with the Floral Pattern being in raised relief. This is a very pleasing pattern and will work with most decors, especially Mid Century Modern. The opposites sides are smooth and wavy. The Vase has a uniquely shaped rectangular foot. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The Vase is extremely Clean and appears to have seen minimal use. The Piece is signed on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A." and the mold number 784-8" in raised relief. There is also the letter B written in a Blue Ink or Grease Pencil. This was more than likely a finishers or Artist initial. Those of you who collect Silhouette Vases and want an excellent example both in form and glaze should not let this one pass by. This is a stylistic influenced vase with sleek and chunky, bulbous and angular appearance. This Vase was made Circa 1950 just after World War II. « Less

For Sale I have one of the most desirable Art Pottery Patterns to collect and it was made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville. Ohio. The Item is a double handled "Spherical Vase" and it is done in the Highly Desirable "Sunflower" Pattern. The Vase stands 4" tall, 5 3/4" in diameter. This is a very pleasing pattern created by Roseville Pottery. The vase looks like Globe or Sphere with two ears. The piece displays Six Embossed Mature Sunflowers along the upper portion of the vase. They are supported by detailed Leaves with the curving stems joining each other at the bottom. The Sunflowers are individually defined and display a deep Yellow Glaze with the leaves being a Verdi Green with hints of Blue Glaze. They are set against a Grainy Brown Background Glaze that bleeds down from the top to a Blue Green and a much deeper Blue Glaze at the bottom. There is lots of Blue along the bottom half. The Grainy texture kind of gives this piece that added realistic look as if you were looking at the Sunflowers Growing out of the Ground. The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. It is unsigned but there is no doubt as to who made this. More than likely it had a Foil Label that simply fell off over time. There is a number 4 written in a Blue Greaze Pencil or Glaze. This was more than likely the finishers number. This is one of the harder to find shapes in the Sunflower Pattern to acquire in one's collection. This was known as shape number 213-4" in Roseville's Catalog Pages. This Vase was made Circa 1930 just prior to the Great Depression. This is a wonderful example of Roseville's Sunflower Pattern. The Mold is crisp and it has very strong Glaze Colors, especially the Blue. This piece is also very clean and appears that it was primarily used as a Cabinet piece. I'm sure the lucky Buyer will be elated with their purchase. « Less

For Sale I have a lovely piece of Art Glass Vase made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item I called a "Diamond Quilted" Bowl. The Bowl Measures 2 3/8" More »
For Sale I have a lovely piece of Art Glass Vase made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item I called a "Diamond Quilted" Bowl. The Bowl Measures 2 3/8" Tall and is 3 3/4" in diameter. The top opening is 2 1/2" in diameter. The Bowl Displays a very unique Diamond Quilted Pattern throughout the Bowl. Even the Top Flaring lip has this pattern in it. The Gold Aurene Iridescent is more matt than the smooth version Vases I have had in the past. I believe the pattern in the glass somewhat tones it down. You can see beautiful tones of Fuchsia along the neck and beautiful Blue Platinum along the bottom edge. Looking inside the Bowl is like looking at a mirror. The Gold Iridescence is just outstanding!! The Bowl is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Bowl displays a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the finishing mark of Quality Art Glass. The only issues is there are signs of use as there are very small scratches in the Iridescence around the bowl. The Bowl is signed on the bottom with Steuben's "Aurene" etched signature mark along with the Shape Number "252" also etched. You can tell always tell Steuben's Gold Aurene from Tiffany's Gold Favrile as Steuben's texture of the glass is very smooth like a baby's butt and the Tiffany Gold has a rougher texture. Purchase with confidence as quality Art Glass is becoming harder and harder to find. I have only had this form a few times in my 35+ years as a dealer. Steuben's Aurene was registered in 1904, and ceased production in 1932. « Less

For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a Hand Blown "Gourd Ribbed Ruffled Bowl" and it is done in More »
For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a Hand Blown "Gourd Ribbed Ruffled Bowl" and it is done in the Verre De Soie Style of Glass. This was Frederick Carder's Favorite Glass he formulated. Verre de Soie literally means "Glass of Silk". When you run the exterior of the Bowl across your face it really feels like Silk!! The Bowl is rather large as it stands 4 7/8" tall and is 7" in diameter. This is such a wonderful and gracefully shaped bowl. This shape is definitely a Steuben Style Trademark. The Bowl displays wide Heavy Vertical Ribs that appear to be Blown out like you would see in a real Gourd. These Vertical Ribs rises up from the round bottom and close in at the neck and the Flares out giving this piece added size. The Gracefully Ruffled Top Border or Rim finishes this shape Superbly. The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is only a few minor scratches on the bottom side and appears to have been well taken care of during its life. This Ruffled Bowl is unsigned as this Style "Verre de Soie" usually carried a paper label. The piece does display the counter sunk Polished Pontil. This is the sign of Quality Hand Blown Art Glass. Steuben Art Glass is some the Highest Quality Glass you can own. At the turn of the Century LCT Tiffany Studio's Favrile line was their main competitor and Steuben fared equally as well. Steuben created some of the nicest Art Glass Vases the World has ever seen. This is Design #1561 in the definitive Steuben reference, Paul Gardner's, The Glass of Frederick Carder, page. 141. Absolutely gorgeous color, and in perfect condition. This Bowl was made Circa 1905-1920. « Less

For Sale I have a very Lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a wonderful Gold Iridescent Flower Vase and it is done in Tiffany's highly More »
For Sale I have a very Lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is a wonderful Gold Iridescent Flower Vase and it is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Gold Favrile Iridescent Glass. The Vase is a nice size as it stands 6 9/16" tall and has a diameter of 4 1/2" at it widest point.
The Vase displays a very Strong Gold Iridescent finish. The Vase looks metallic but it is glass. You can see vivid hues of Fuchsia and Platinum Blues. The Vase is a very nice shape. I would consider this a "Jeannie Bottle" shape. It is Decorated with raised ribbing that starts at the top lip and swirls ever so slightly down the neck of the vase into the middle of the bulbous section. There are little raised Pigtail prunts at the end of the Ribbing. Some are better defined than others. There is also a pattern of 2 high in the Middle and 2 Lower on the outside of the 2 inner lines. The ribbing appears to pick up from the bottom of the Pigtail prunts and extends towards the bottom circular foot. The Ribbing is very faint but you can see it when held to the light. There are a total of 10 ribs.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issues is some Carbon in the Glass on the inside lip looking in. This is Factory as it was made this way. This cannot be seen when displayed. The Vase displays that counter sunk polished pontil. The sign of Quality Art Glass. There is a very tiny area with iridescence loss the size of a pencil tip near one of the prunts. The vase is properly signed with the etched initials L.C.T. for "Louis Comfort Tiffany" as well as the Prefix number G2869. This Prefix letter G means this piece was made in the year 1897.
This is a quality piece of Art glass made by Tiffany Studios and is considered an early piece. The Gold Favrile, Aurene Iridescence is just outstanding!! This is a very nice example of this form and color. It is amazing that this vase is in the condition it is. It is 113 years old. This is also a not so commonly found Decorated Vase either. The small salts in this pattern command a strong dollar as they usually sell for $325-$350.
Those of you who collect the Pigtail Prunts Gold Iridescence pieces will surely welcome this fine addition. I'm sure the lucky Buyer will be delighted with their purchase. « Less
