Signed, Vintage Chinese Mandarin pendant made of carved carnelian, diamonds and gemstones including emerald, ruby, sapphire set in 18 carat gold. Made for Tiffany & CO in Italy. Measures 1 1 /4 inches long, not including the loop. Wonderfully carved bust of a Chinese mandarin. The stone glows as the light catches it. Great detail to features - from the slanted eyes to the sweeping moustache. He wears a huge 18k gold hat with twisted rope trim ending in diamond tassles that swing as the wearer moves. It is centered on his head with a largish cabochon sapphire, above which is a pagoda-shaped crown, ending in a 3-lobed ruby flower. His collar, made of textured, gold is also set with precious gemstones - diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire. The pendant is hallmarked with 750 for 18 carat gold; TIFFANY & CO; Made Italy. Estate / vintage 18 carat yellow gold and cultured pearl ladies brooch. Made by Tiffany & Co. in Italy. Measures 1 3/8 inches accross and weighs approx 12 grams. The brooch consists of a ring of overlapping foliage. 7 highly detailed, 3-dimentional, wavy,leaves, as though dancing around each other in a tight circle. The center of each leaf is set with a round cultured pearl, approx 3mm in size. Beautiful detail and look of luxury and elegance. The back of the brooch shows the fine quality craftsmanship for which Tiffany was famous. It seems that here we see the very veins within the leaves themselves as well as the branch suspending them. Vintage / estate 18carat yellow gold, enamel and diamond pave set X-ring. Made Tiffany & Co by their most illustrious French designer, Jean Schlumberger. US size 5. Weighs 8.5grams. Shank of ring in gleaming, custom Royal Blue enamel with cabochon finish, between a border of contrasting gold on either side. The top is a dome created by crossing, s-curves, forming an X, almost the signature symbol of Jean Schlumberger, set very tightly with 28 brilliant cut diamonds. A specialist graded them as VS1 to VS2 in colour and grade GHI. The pave setting is exceptional - even in the hugely magnified ''photos. This was very likely a custom made ring and the quality of workmanship and materials is exceptional. The ultimate in sheer luxury and elegance. Highly unusual brooch in the form of a judge or auctioneer''s gavel - long handled hammer. Made of pique - natural substance inlaid with gold. Made circa 1830-50''s. Measures 2 inches long. THe beautifully shaped head of the hammer, a concave cylinder, somewhat transluscent like amber, as well as the length of the handle, with it''s globe terminal, are inlaid with both silver and gold studs and crosses. The work is extremely fine and close, indicating that it is an early piece, dating closer to the Georgian era. We can forgive some of the missing metal inlay due to the extreme age and delicacy of the piece. A simple clasp, appropriate to the age and original to the piece is in good working order at the back. A perfect circle with border of beautifully set, old diamonds. The sides have shoulders with similarly set diamonds. Despite the relatively small size, the face, with black numerals, is very clear and easy to read.Dial on right side for setting and winding. No maker''s name visible. Engraved on the back is : Y.G ROOM 1200 FEDERAL LIFE BLDG CHICAGO. Clearly this was the classic parting gift to a loyal employee. Inside of the shank is engraved:900 PLAT 100 IRID. Antique pendant made of carved ivory, 18 carat gold and set with a sapphire. Circa 1880-1900. Measures 1 1/4 inches accross widest part; 2 1/2 inches long, including the loop. Weighs approx 15 grams. Shaped like half an egg/an oval. A sturdy, wide loop suspends an openwork, sculpted design of scrolling ribbons, a bow in the center, set with a genuine sapphire. (tested on Presidium gemstone tester). Intricate and very interesting design. Below this is an arc of roses, made of solid gold , set between two arching gold bands. A buckle-shape constitues most of the pendant. It is set with a ''natural material'' relief carving of a pair of lovers embrasing and kissing. The influence of the Pre-Raphaelite movement is clear in the flowing locks of the woman and the monkish, Renaissance style haircut of the youth. The couple is surrounded by carved flowers. They are clearly absorbed in their inner, personal reverie - eyes closed and arms twined around each other in a totally self-contained universe. Astonishing detail of the carving, both of the couple and the surrounding flowers, which are echoed in the floral, wide sleeve and her scrolling, flowing hair. The double gold frame is almost stark in comparison to the rich contents of the carved scene. Part of the natural, buttery colour of the relief has been dyed a rich dark brown-black. THere are no hallmarks and no makers marks, but the gold does test for 18carat and the stone is a genuine sapphire, even if it does not play a central part in the pendant. Good condition. First impression of this ring is the wonderful sparkle. It has a special setting that curves around the finger - extremely elegant and attractive. The body of the bezel is largely openwork platinum set with tiny diamonds, very finely crafted. The top has a raised trio of larger stones: two natural sapphires and a diamond. Great deep blue colour to sapphires. Quality of the workmanship is not only visible by the beautiful appearance of the ring when worn, but also inside the ring, as seen from behind. Good condition. Antique Georgian 18 carat gold and enamel Memorial, hair and skull ring. Made circa 1820. US size 6 3/4. Shank of the ring in the form of overlapping branches, that divide into 3 at each shoulder, where they join the oval, flower-shaped bezel. THe top has an oval reserve in which a skull rests on a bed of the beloved''s tightly woven hair. The border is enamelled in black with gold letters:IN MEMORY OF. According to Shirley Bury in her book on rings, page 47, such rings were often made for stock and then inscribed according to the needs/wishes of the purchaser. This particular ring has not been inscribed with name or date of the deceased. Ring is in very good condition especially considering the age.
