This is an antique sterling silver hair brush in the most popular pattern Love's Dream by Unger, c. 1904. It is about 9" long, 1-1/4" high. The patter depicts winged Cupid kissing a sleeping Psyche among the clouds. Dolphins and griffins are incorporated in the repousse design. There is a classical head in high relief on both sides of the handle. The Unger Brothers' logo, "Sterling 925 Fine" and a second Unger Brothers' mark appear on one side of the silver. There are three tiny initials JBH on the other side (not pictured). Natural bristles, in very good condition with just minor discoloration on one side. The celluloid base for the bristles is in excellent condition. There is a dent above Psyche's head and a few very minor dings around the edges of the silver above the brush and the tip of the handle, fairly typical of silver dresser ware that is over 100 years old.   « Less

Very attractive set of fruit knives and forks - sterling silver handles and silver plated tines and blades. British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1920. Maker is William Devenport. The knives are shaped like pate knives and would be very useful in this role. Fruit knives and forks are also useful for entrees, and this is an elegant set, with a nice pattern detail to the handles. Knives are 16.5 cm long, and forks are 15.5 cm long. They come in their original case. All in excellent condition - maybe a wedding present never used. Case is also excellent.   « Less
