Antique Chinese Ching Dynasty porcelain biscuit-glazed figure of one of the three immortals, Lu Xing god of Wealth and Prosperity represented as a court official standing on a rectangular plinth, dressed in a long cobalt blue robe decorated with a pattern depicting a Dragon Amidst the Clouds, wearing a high cap decorated on the front with a Ruyi head motive suspending two tassels falling over the shoulder, and holding in his left hand a ceremonial scepter, Ru Yi. The base is signed by the maker with four impressed Chinese characters. Most of the Chinese Biscuit figures are hollow, this particular one is hand sculptured with fine details, made of solid weighty porcelain. HEIGHT: 13 cm (5 1/8 in). CONDITION: Very good overall condition with no damage, or repairs. The line visible on the base is a natural fire crack formed during the firing in the kiln. Antique, Chinese 18th century, large copper basin bowl of squat spherical form rising to the everted rim, the shoulders flanked by two applied zoomorphic mask handles with rings, (absence of one ring). The body elaborately engraved with eight large quatrefoil cartouches and four small medallions containing various vegetation, including plum and lotus blossoms, bamboo branches and chrysanthemum flowers, against a fish scales pattern background, and surrounded by cloud scrolls. CONDITION: Some wear to engraved designee, small amount of tin soldering on the lower part, below the mask. MEASUREMENTS: Approximately: Diameter including masks: 39 cm (15 3/8 in). Authentic antique 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty, very well hand carved from a 100% natural, untreated and undyed, jadeite sculpture, depicting a standing figure of a maiden, (possibly GUANYIN). She is standing on a rocky pedestal, next to a large peony flower, wearing a long robe tied with a sash, with her hair dressed in an elaborate topknot and looped trailing tresses. The stone is in variations of colors, from pale lavender to celadon green, and splashed brown. Please note that the pictures of the carving were taken in daylight, however, on some pictures the colors are brighter then on others since the color of the stone changes, depending on which angle the camera is on when taking the picture. DIMENSIONS: Height: 14 cm (5 1/2 inch). Width at the widest point: 9.5 cm (3 3/4 in). CONDITION: A minor chip on the back of the ponytail. (please see attached picture), otherwise in good condition. With its natural inclusions there are no cracks of any kind, the lines on the bottom are not cracks but carved lines. Total jadeite weight is 282 grams. The item is a 6 panel oriental/asian screen. It was purchased at an auction of an estate with no heirs in 1995 in Fremont County, Wyoming. The estate of a couple who traveled the world extensively buying and shipping merchandise back to the USA. This item was shipped to the USA from Thailand in the late 50s or early 60s. I only had a bill of sale which is long gone. Measurements are as follow: Outside measurement, each panel is 17 1/4 inches wide x 74 1/4" High. Depth of frame 1 1/4" Overall height 8 1/2 feet......over all corner to corner 8.7feet. One side is painted on what appears to be a lacquered background panel, using gold paint and utilizing the black background to create the picture of birds and flora. The other side is all created from a variety of stones, possibly some jade, into birds, flowers , branches and crops. The wood may be rosewood, boxwood, or a native wood. It has been in a home,not in storage since it was purchased. There is no serious damage, a little scuffing on the frame very minimal.
