A gilt wood console probably originally conceived as a cabinet stand, composed of a rectangular breche d'Alep marble top inset in a gadrooned and fluted border. It stands on four square tapering legs headed by Atalanta figures, each one being different from the other on the gesture, the face and the burden of flowers or fruit they carry on their shoulders. The four feet are joined by an x-shaped stretcher centered by a pagoda-shaped finial. Very good condition. Louis XIV Period, Circa: 1700. This very nicely patinated piece can be converted into a round table thanks to its tilt top and pull out back leg revealing a secret compartment.
