Antique Chinese Chippendale Mahogany Dining Room Set. I don't know the manufacturer or when exactly this four piece over sized solid Mahogany dining set was made but the original owner brought it to Michigan from England in 1916. Signed and dated when it was shipped; St. Ives, Cornwall England on December 15, 1916. I purchased it from his granddaughter in 1984. The wood is in beautiful condition; all pieces have the original finish and have been covered by professional table pads. The table tops are like a mirror with no visible scratches. The huge carved 60” pedestal table splits to receive 3 leaves. China hutch (5’ 2” tall and 4’ wide) holds the original mirror and original pressed glass doors and sides. Sideboard is 4’ wide and 2’ deep. Large buffet is 6’ 7” long and 26” deep and is standing on 8 legs. Every leg, front and back on all pieces have carved knees and ball and claw feet. Damage: Two of the eight legs on the buffet have some damage and the cupboard door hinges have come loose. One pane on the china hutch is cracked. Price is dropping... An exceptionally fine set of four black lacquered, mid-nineteenth century English Nesting Tables, each with a different top surface design. The largest has a Oriental Garden Scene, the second a Chess Board design, the third a Floral design and the fourth a Tea Garden. Each table has fine gilt decoration and extensive Mother-of-Pearl inlay. The largest table has some inlay loss and top surface imperfections from use. The other three tables are in excellent original condition. All four tables have their original casters. The largest table measures 15" X 22" X 28" high. French Pastry Table. It is a solid iron table, not wrought iron. The ornate trim adds to the charm of this piece, the round solid brass accents are hand casted and there are round brass finials on most of the ornamental iron posts. The iron has been sandblasted and powder coated in white satin. The white Carrera marble top shows some age but has no cracks. The marble top measures 54" x 30" x 1". The overall height is 34 1/2".
