The plate is beautifully ornamented with leaves, fans, and abstract detail. This Eastlake entrance doorplate is in excellent condition; it measures 8 ½†by 2 3/8â€.

While the manufacturer of this particular backplate is unknown, very similar designs were produced by Russell & Erwin, Sargent, Yale, and other companies between 1895 and 1925. The faceplates of the locks have been stripped and refinished; most will be dark brown to black, with some interesting color variations in a few (see photos for examples). Sizes of these mortise locks will vary slightly by manufacturer. The locks are in good working condition.
