The film stripes are in excellent condition. The view is missing the small plastic piece on the handle and it also has a very small age crack on the bottom. Comes with original box. Rare and superb, this etui presents all the romantic elements one would associate with letters of the heart being delivered by courier! The tortoise shell body is elaborately decorated with inlaid gilt metal and silver, a charming floral design. Either end boasts a large blossom encircled with ever so delicate foliate tendrils and smaller bell flowers. The outer body of shell has been worked in a very interesting way; it appears striped. The inside shell cuff is in perfect condition. The outer shell shows some wear and there is some loss to the....must be hundreds!.of little metal insets. This piece is definitely from the 19th Century, so I suppose some signs of wear tell us that this etui was used! How many declarations of love and romance has it carried over the years? Circa 1900-20. Signed Gorham pincushion. This elegant sewing accessory is solid sterling silver with gold plating. The design is a Rocco oval with a pierce-carved bowl. Fully marked with an older Gorham mark and the numbers 4780. Old, possibly original, mohair pin cushion that fits perfectly. The gold plating is in excellent condition as is the entire basket, actually cleaner and brighter than it appears in the photos. 4" long x 2 3/4" wide x 1 1/2"tall (without cushion).   « Less

Nippon, porcelain, Moriage decorated humidor with a squirrel finial. Beautiful, bright colors and a charming design for the collector of Nippon or humidors in general. This fine piece of porcelain features a forest green back round and brightly colored flowers ( orchids?) and is filled with typically exuberant Moriage raised slip decoration and topped with a seated squirrel handle. A wonderful example of collectible Late 19th century Nippon pottery. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Unmarked. Good original condition, with two very tight, fine hairlines that can be seen on the inside and some minor, typical loss to the raised slip decoration. 8" tall x 5" diameter. Price 550.   « Less
