Decorative Set of Twelve Wine Hocks, 'Lismore' Pattern of Waterford Glasses, H:7". Waterford Crystal is a trademark brand of crystal glassware produced in Waterford, Ireland, by the company Waterford Wedgwood , previously trading as Waterford Glass Ltd. The crystal business was originally founded in the city in 1783 by George and William Penrose; the production was of extremely fine crystal that became world-renowned. Financial difficulties caused their company to close, due to excessive taxation of the product. Later in 1947, Czech immigrant Charles Bacik, grandfather of Irish senator Ivana Bacik, established a glass works in the city, due to the superb reputation of the original glassware and by the early 1950s it had been taken over as a subsidiary of the Irish Glass Bottle company. Waterford Crystal Glass Group Limited is currently a member of Waterford/ Wedgwood, formed through the acquisition by the famous pottery manufacturer Josiah Wedgwood in 1986. The Waterford Glass Crystal is a fine cut and elegant look and quality. The main factory in Kilbarry, Waterford City, today has tours of the factory, a gift store and it is a historical place to visit. « Less

For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a "Stemmed Champagne". The Champagne is blown in Frederick More »
For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a "Stemmed Champagne". The Champagne is blown in Frederick Carder's very desirable and hard to find "Selenium Red" Glass. The Stemmed Champagne stands 5 1/4" tall and the cup is 2 13/16" in diameter and the foot has a diameter of 2 1/2".
The Stemmed Champagne displays a very beautiful rich clear Ruby Red glass. The round foot, stem and receiving cup are all made of this Rich Red Glass. It starts out with a round foot that has a tapered stem applied to it. It starts out slender at the bottom becomes a little wider at the top and then tapers back into the slender shape as it attaches to the underside of the receiving cup. This is very delicate to the touch. The receiving Cup has a unique shape as you can see. The Glass has a nice rolled top edge.
The Champagne is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are minimal scratches along the bottom. There is also a few tiny air bubbles in the stem and cup. This is quite common with early glass. The piece is Signed with remants of Steuben's Acid Etched Stamped "Fleur de Lis" Mark with "Steuben" inside on the bottom.
Those of you who collect Colored Steuben and want a very nice example will be quite pleased with their purchase. This piece was made during the Frederick Carder Years, Circa 1918-1932. « Less

Boylston Antiques
is Proud to Offer for Sale
A set of 12 opalescent art glass sherbets with applied flowers and leaves. Although not signed, they clearly resemble the art glass of Stevens & Williams of England, known to have made opalescent glass sherbets and vases with applied flowers and leaves. Each glass varies slightly in size, in accordance with the variations found in hand blown glass.
• These beautiful sherbets stand approximately 2 3/4 inches tall, with a 4 inch diameter top.
• Each glass stands on an approximately 2 1/2 inch diameter clear foot.
• The leaves appear to be composed of green opalescent glass; some of the leaves are shaded from a yellowish green color to a blue-green color.
• The flower petals are composed of milk glass painted in a variety of colors.
• The glass flowers are colored as follows: 3 yellow, 3 deep blue, 2 azure, 2 russet and 2 white. The russet flowers have yellow centers.
• The capacity of each glass is approximately 5 fluid ounces.
• These exquisite glasses are thin and fine, with a pearly opalescence and iridescence. The opalescence varies in intensity from glass to glass and even within each glass. The glass surface is curiously rough and gritty to the touch. These may well be devitrified opalescent glass. There are small bubbles and irregularities consistent with blown glass.
• The pontil mark is clearly visible on the bottom of the bases.
Condition – Each flower and many of the leaves have chips consistent with the age of these glasses (see photos). One of the flowers and or leaves may have been repaired. The glasses themselves are free from chips or cracks.
All items are sold "as is". These are antique pieces of glass; small nicks and scratches are part of the beauty of an antique and are not described unless significant.
It seems desirable to keep such a large, exquisite set together. However, I may be willing to divide the set into 2 sets of six for the right buyer.
