A wonderful antique copper exterior lantern, dating from the 1920’s, with verdigris. The sconce features a hammered round backplate, with a single arm coming up into a large hook. The lantern hangs from a copper ring atop the cone-shape roof. The roof has a scalloped lower edge, and has a granite glass cylinder below with a copper border. This wall lamp is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the edges. This sconce measures 10-7/8” tall, 4-1/2” wide, and projects 6” from the wall. This pendant light begins with an elegant leaf-and-dart canopy, descending in a chain to a loop finial atop a hexagonal roof. The roof is ornamented with stars separated by torsade detail. The six panels of the lantern are separated by rope borders, and a stylized fleur-de-lis below. The lantern features a textured amber glass. This Spanish Revival pendant light features a hammered canopy with a scalloped edge and a foliate appliqué; below, the lantern is supported by a simple loop finial with a scalloped piece underneath. The lantern features scalloped upper and lower edges, with trefoils and a hammered texture throughout. The lantern has panels of hammered amber glass, with cutout cast iron foliate sections between each panel. We bought eight of these fantastic, very large, outdoor lights from one estate. They are simply a wow for impressions. Made from a brass/bronze material, they do have a mixed reddish bronze finish and the detail for these old castings, meant for outside, is pretty good with some age considerations. They do vary a bit as all old castings will. We have totally rewired these and also added a water protection fitter which helps channel rainwater away. We changed the poorly designed mounting options and now they mount with 3 lag bolts that have decorative theft deterrent caps. You can see the 3 caps that go over the lag bolts, on the back plate. There are three of them. These sconces are big and heavy and get bigger and heavier with the shades that are chosen to go with them. Measurements: The backplate is 21" tall by 9" max wide before shades are added. The light protrudes 15" before shades are added. ANT-262-157 has a final height of 27" tall by 10 1/2" wide and a 17" projection. Price: $1,350.00 plus shipping. This does include the shade. At this time, we have two of these fixtures only.
