Large English Aesthetic Movement blue transfer ware soup tureen and under plate. This fine tureen is an exceptional example of the "Anglo-Japanesque" style popular on both sides of the Atlantic during the last quarter of the 19th century. All the out side surfaces are covered with Asian motifs, dragonflies, fans, flowers, butterflies, birds and even a man with a rifle. Even the undecorated surfaces of this fine serving piece has raised flowers as does the two open work handles and lid handle. Fully marked A. Shaw for the A. Shaw & Son, Mersey Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire England and Java for the pattern. The tureen and lid are in good original condition, the under plate has an old repair which only shows slightly from the top. The under plate is 17" wide x 12" deep and the tureen is 14" wide (handle to handle) and 10" tall x 8 1/4" deep. Price 395   « Less

Circa 1880 porcelain soup tureen, “Haviland & Co, Limoges”, 1879-1886, signed on lid and base, moss rose handpainted pattern, open handles and finial in bar and rope nautical motif, rose pink trim. 10” tall, 13” long, 8” wide. Condition – overall excellent, has small chip on rim that is not visible when lid is on(see photo). 281 - This H&Co mark appears to hove been used 1876-1886. - This Haviland & Co circle mark was used 1879-1889.   « Less

Vegetable tureen by Burleigh Ware, circa 1930s. Willow pattern with squared shape, gilded edges, domed lid and beautiful gilded and blue finial. Tureen measures 17 cm high by 26.5 cm by 23.5 cm. (6.3/4 inches by 10.1/2 inches by 9.1/4 inches). Condition: just one tiny light stain internally to edge, and a few blind hairline stains underneath, which do not go through to the interior. Large soup or vegetable tureen, Willow pattern, dating early 1800s. Early Staffordshire, it has some faults - as to be expected for the age - a little crazing inside the bottom, a chip and small hairline crack on the rim, firing crack to one handle join (in the manufacture) and a chip off the lion finial to the lid. No maker's marks. Measurements: approx. 25.5 cm high, 30 cm wide and 20 cm deep. A great display item for a dresser - and could still be used if treated with respect.   « Less
