Circa 1815 English Spode Imari Pattern #1645 cups. One is a Tea Cup with a London Handle that has a 4" hairline. There are three Spode #1645 demitasse cups. Two are OK and one has two bad cracks that have been glued (pieced) together. There are Five #1645 Saucers. One has a hairline and one has a worn gilded spot where the demitasse cup would sit, which you can see in the images of the saucers. These were part of a Large Collection of #967 and #1645 that had been consigned to Christies in New York in January 2001, Sale #9594. The set did not sell and we purchased them from the consignor, following Christies returning them to the consigner. This is the end of the 100 piece collection, so I have priced the remaining pieces as one lot at a Reasonable Price. « Less

20TH Century Chinese Export Reproduction of a Sacred Bird and Butterfly Plate measuring 6 7/8" in diameter. Historic Charleston Reproduction Made By Mottahedeh. More »
20TH Century Chinese Export Reproduction of a Sacred Bird and Butterfly Plate measuring 6 7/8" in diameter. Historic Charleston Reproduction Made By Mottahedeh. Mottahedeh was and still is a factory in Portugal. Mildred Mottahedeh was one of if not the largest and most well known collector of 18th and 19th century chinese export porcelain. She loved it so much that she and her husband Raffi opened a factory in Portugal many years ago to reproduce these fine antique examples. The original orange sacred bird and butterfly pattern was made in the early to late 19th century. There was a lady in the Washington, D.C. Area who before she died gave her collection to the Historic Charleston, S.C. Museum. Mottahedeh apparently came along and reproduced it and it is sold in CHARLESTON. Several years ago I met this ladies daughter at a show in Washington, D.C. at a show I was exhibiting at and she has started purchasing old antique pieces of this pattern from me. « Less

Circa 1820 Chinese Export Pair of Orange Fitzhugh Platters measuring 16" X 13". Fresh out of a very important estate in Charlottesville, Virginia--The home of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello. Both of these platters have black marks on them which was done in the making of these beautiful old fitzhugh platters. There are eight images that we are showing on this one platter(Platter #1) of the pair, illustrating these firing marks. There were a couple chips on the rim of each platter that we have had professionally restored. The other platter has been listed separately, so the images of each platter and black marks can be viewed. We are willing to sell these platters separately or as a pair. We also have priced both as individually or as the pair. Very Reasonably I might Add. Single Orange Fitzhugh Platters of this size and in good condition usually sell for $6500.00, and a matching pair from the same estate is unheard of. « Less

Circa 1820 Chinese Export Blue and White Nanking reticulated underplate for a fruit/chestnut basket. Nanking was made for the English Market and usually dates earlier than More »
Circa 1820 Chinese Export Blue and White Nanking reticulated underplate for a fruit/chestnut basket. Nanking was made for the English Market and usually dates earlier than blue canton which was made for the american market. Blue canton often referred to as balast for the ships bringing tea, etc to the western world. Nanking was a nicer and better quality chinese export blue and white porcelain that was made for the upper class in England. This fine reticulated underplate measures 9 3/4" X 8 1/2". In contrast to canton which has no body on the bridge, nanking usually has a person on the bridge and usually carrying a parasol. The pagodas and the trees, etc are usually of finer quality than canton and the reticulation is usually tighter than it's counterpart--blue canton. This piece is in Excellent Condition with no chips or restoration. Nice Blue Color. « Less
