Circa 1880. Exceptionally nice Victorian parlor table. This fine American, solid black walnut parlor table is oval in shape with a carved, curvy Rococo feel and tasteful "chip carvings" popular during the last quarter of the 19th century. The unusual apron, angles out from the Italian white marble top and is very detailed. This table is also unusual in that it is in excellent original condition with no missing, broken or repaired pieces and in very good original finish. The original marble top has an ogee edge and is in good condition with only some small chips around the bottom edge. Original, removable casters complete this table to perfection. We have re-glued and lightly polished this all original stand to preserve it's fine original patina. 29 1/2" wide x 22 1/2" deep x 29 1/2 " high. « Less

Last Quarter, 19th Century American, three tier stand in a French Taste. This exceptional example of Louis XVI furniture has been handed down in one family, which I believe accounts for it's amazingly fine original condition. Rarely do we see any marquetry inlaid furniture in such fine original condition. Everything on this gorgeous piece of Victoriana is intact. From the three beautifully inlaid shelves, and fine ebonized turned legs to the fancy serpentine brass rail , cast brass turned finials, and shelf edging. The table is made from many exotic woods including walnut, rosewood and birds eye maple. We purchased it from the great grand daughter of the original owner whose mother made tags for all the family pieces when she inherited them. We have re-glued and waxed this all original stand to preserve it's fine original patina. 18" wide x 13 1/2" deep x 31 " high. « Less

Circa 1870. Solid rosewood folding games table. Rococo Revival, with elegant lines and lovely, high quality carvings, English in origin. This versatile table can be used for its original 19th century purpose, playing games or as additional seating for four when needed. When it is folded it also makes a good and decorative, pier or parlor table. The table top rotates on it's pedestal base giving access to a storage compartment and then unfolds to a slightly recessed playing surface, which at the moment is not covered. We can add felt or send it out to be covered in leather as the buyer chooses. We like to leave options open so that the next owner can choose color and material. This fine Victorian table is made of beautifully figured, solid rosewood throughout. The top is a double serpentine curve and the base is a tapered column with four flat sides and foliate carvings. The table retains it's original brass hinges. Very good original condition, with only a very slight warp to the top that does not affect looks or use. Lightly re-polished. 36" wide x 29 1/2" high x 18" deep. « Less

Superb, all original R. J. Horner vitrine. Rarely do we find complete, original, high end furniture that is truly new to the market. Fresh from an estate, this piece has been handed down in one family since it was new. An excellent example of fine American furniture (Horner is a very well regarded NYC maker) in a French taste. This lovely china cabinet has the nicest cast gilt brass detail I have seen, especially the two level top frieze in which the "curtain and tassel" portion juts out about 3/4" over the the undulating leaf and curlicue that band the top of the glass portion. As seen in the pictures, even the back of the cabinet has the curtain and tassel trim, across the top and directly over the original RJ Horner tag. The display cabinet is solid mahogany in it's fine, smooth original finish with only some minor light areas probably from sun exposure. All original curved glass and two glass shelves. Original fancy key and working lock. The back is lined with fabric in very good condition. The top has a brass gallery and a stone top surface that may be faux finished to look like pink and gray marble, both are in fine original condition. No missing or broken pieces, glass, wood or brass. Excellent patina on both the brass and wood. 55" tall x 27" wide x 13 1/2" deep. « Less

All original Anglo-Japanesque, Aesthetic Movement, bamboo, rattan and wood music cabinet. Unusually fine original condition along with good design and useful size make this a stand out piece of Victorian furniture. Most probably English in origin, used to store sheet music in a music room or parlor, this cabinet would be equally at home in a modern, Asian or Victorian styled bathroom with four original shelves behind the flower decorated door and two generous shelves beneath for towels, storage or display. No missing pieces or replacements, small areas of wear to the rattan covering the shelves the worst of which is a burn on the top shelf that can be seen in the pictures. We have re-glued, cleaned and polished the entire piece and it is in handsome, sturdy, usable condition. 53" tall x 19" wide x 14 1/2" deep. « Less

19th Century, Dutch marquetry Pembroke table. This unique mahogany table is covered on every surface with beautifully executed marquetry inlaid into solid mahogany. When the leaves are up the table is round with a large central floral medallion in a circle of leaves and flowers. Around the entire top is a wide band of vines and flowers radiating off four urns. When the leaves are down the top is a rectangle with "D" ends. Each end of the base is wide and straight except for a wider curved frame work around the end drawers. Both sides of the base are completely inlaid with floral vases as a centerpiece with radiating leaves and flowers. The legs are also inlaid on both sides and there is a double, parallel string inlay running up the sides. The wide, ogee edged bottom shelf is also totally inlaid. Each end has an inlaid, locking drawer. The leaves are supported by a wooden leaf support that pulls out of each side. This table has never been refinished. We have cleaned and re-polished the original finish and restored two very small areas of inlay. The table is completely flat with no warp. There are several shrinkage cracks on the top that have been glued and are completely stable. Original casters and locks. Fine patina, medium, yellowish red mahogany with very soft green, red, amber and brown inlays. 33 3/4" round , opened, x 30 1/4"tall. The closed top measures 33 3/4" x 16 3/4". « Less
