Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique backplates with nice frosted and ruby tipped shades.
These pewter finish sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance, but with a more restrained backplate design that is so typical of the Edwardian design style. Almost reminds you of an Art Nouveau...but not quite.
The metal of the backplates is cast zinc and aluminum, with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with true bakelite sockets and new wire.
Measurements:
•Height: 8â€
•Width: 4â€
•Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
$357.50 for the complete pair...plus $25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Circa 1935, the outward design elements, i.e..the glass shade and sconce frame are original to be seen and appreciated. It is what is behind the shade that drove our UL lighting shop back to the drawing board.
These French sconces turned out to be a work of electrical redesign with the newest state of the art LED technology to give us the results we wanted. Because these truly are French antiques, the lighting used for such a large shade (which reaches out from the wall to give a 3-D lighting effect), was originally badly designed. It gave a minimum impact for a shade of this size...and of course...used only ONE french socket for one insignificant bulb.
Measurements:
•Height: 12" tall
•Width: 6 ¾" wide
•Projection: 9 ½" from the wall into the room.
So...we went to work. We designed these with a dual use socket (called G9) with a state of the art type LED bulb (called a COB G9 bulb) to give, what we think, is a truly beautiful lighting condition. Nice that these bulbs are only 7.5 watts each, but put out a whopping 60 watts each incandescent equivalent. They also have a range of current supply of 85v to 265v, so brown outs and spikes will not effect these bulbs. And yes...California UL approved energy standard since the socket is G9 with a state of the art LED COB bulb. We have both sockets and replacement G9 7.5 watt COB bulbs available for any rewire for California or other strict new energy saving building code use.
So many elements working together for a fantastic result.
Metal...brass/bronze cast metal. The finish is silverized with dark accents...like oxidation...and if desired, can be buffed off.
Glass...amber, remarkable condition.
Changes: Mounting backplate; G-9 sockets; G9 7.5 watt LED COB bulbs.
$1,375.00 for a very nice complete & rewired pair of French sconces in original condition, except for the addition of state of the art LED lights which are included...plus $50.00 for careful Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Here’s a well known and respected name in the Art Deco world...Moe Bridges. Their catalog #35 from 1933 was an exclusive finely leather bound volume of products called: “Artistic Lighting Equipmentâ€. This is rather significant, because we are offering a very nice pair of their sconces as shown from that catalog. Moe Bridges was an American company located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
These sconces come from a group of matching lights that Moe Bridges called their “Etruscan Seriesâ€. If you like these sconces...and wish a chandelier to match, it is possible that we could have one in our stock that could be rehabbed to match.
But right now...we are offering this pair of sconces in very nice condition, and which have been rewired in our registered UL department.
Price: $764.50 for the pair, plus $50.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Lovely set of circa 1920s wall sconces. Original antique sconces with amazing shell motif antique amber shades.
These sconces have a lovely before-Depression reddish pewter look, and a great design that is so typical of the Twenties motif.
The amber shell motif shades are so very nice. They are a cast glass, with a deep relief pattern which is nicely shaped. Admirable is how the shapes are all tied together. A nice presentation.
The backplates are cast metal with a lovely reddish pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with new sockets and wire. On/Off rotary switches are supplied with each of these sconces.
Measurements:

Pair of historic sconces from the Loew’s Delancey Theater, 140-146 Delancey Street in New York City.
We are fortunate to have 3 pairs of sconces...in various conditions...from this historic theater. We have restored the first pair, which are now ready for sale.
The last picture, which is of the original theater, is circa 1936. Located next door to the historic Ratner’s dairy restaurant, the Loew’s Delancey Street Theatre was once a cornerstone of life on New York’s Lower East Side. It was built in 1911, opening in 1912 as a 1,788 seat vaudeville house. It was one of the first theatres Marcus Loew built, and was later converted to movies. With the later 1970’s rush to the suburbs, the theatre and the surrounding neighborhood declined until the Loew’s Delancey Theatre was closed in 1976. Many pages of information about Marcus Loew and his theater empire can be found at http://www.nyc.gov/html/lpc/downloads/pdf/reports/LoewsCanal_REPORTFINAL.pdf .
The finish of this pair of sconces is original. It shows flashes of copper and brass, with clear and frosted elements of glass and acrylic.
We have taken the liberty to change the center lighting from fluorescent to LED with a 2G11 long tube. The side elements are lit with corn cob style LED bulbs. The bottom switch is a 3 way, which allows the center-only tube to be lit...or the side lights to be lit...or all the lights to be lit. The effect of lighting only the side lights is like dimming, since they bounce off the center glass with a bright white color. Very theater like in appearance.
Measurements:
•Height: 24" overall.
•Width: 10" (maximum)
•Projection: 5 ½" from the wall into the room.
$1,595.00 for the pair, complete with LED bulbs...plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Ornate '20s look sconces, pre-dating the Deco era.
A very impressive and outstanding pair of ornate 1920s Rococo style wall sconces. They are of larger size, and simply gorgeous.
The metal is brass, and they come with a slightly antiqued look. The shades are cranberry glass with a carved and etched motif.
Completely rewired to UL standards in our lamp shop with new bakelite sockets. Each socket is capable of up to 100 watts incandescent. However, when using incandescent light bulbs, we do recommend no higher than 60 to 65 watts to protect the antique glass shades from the heat. If brighter light is needed, compact fluorescent and LED light bulbs are a good alternative. These emit more light without excessive heat.
Measurements:
•Height: 16â€
•Width: 7 ¼"
•Projection: 8 ½" from the wall into the room.
Both sconces come complete with mounting kits.
Price: $632.50 for the pair, plus $25.00 for Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

If brighter light is needed, we recommend compact fluorescent or LED light bulbs. These radiate more light, and with much less heat than incandescent light bulbs.

Truly an unusual pair of Art Deco sconces. Different from the normal slip shade sconces that were made during the 20's and 30's, as these have more scrolls and details.
The frames are just a wonderful scroll design that remind you of the Paris exposition of Art Decoratifs in 1925 when Edgar Brandt did all the iron work for this important expo, which ended up giving the name to the design of Art Deco.
Completely rewired to UL standards in our UL shop with new sockets and rotary switches identical to the original types.
