EARLY 1900's REDWARE POTTERY 5 GALLON JUG WITH BLACK GLAZE
***FREE UPS GROUND SHIPPING****
This jug has been in storage for decades in a barn in southern Alabama, so has the corn cob stopper used to plug the jug. And over the past few years the owner of the estate has picked choice items to sell off and I was ever so fortunate to acquire this.
The jug is in very fine condition, minor flecks in finish can be found, spout has a chip 3/4 of an inch. Redware being softer than other clay pottery, makes this large jug a rare survivor.
The rich black glaze over the red clay offer many different facets to its color hue throughout the day and night.
I have not and will not attempt to remove the corn cob plug, I do not want to disturb it or break the cob, no amount of money can reproduce the aesthetic value this adds to the jug.
Previous owner estimated the age at early 1900's
Dimensions are: Height-17 inch's to top of spout
Diameter - 12 inchs across the base tapering wider toward top
I have included in the photos a reference to the size comparing to an average bbq propane tank.
Would make a wonderful Christmas Gift!

This jug has been in storage for decades in a barn in southern Alabama, so has the corn cob stopper used to plug the jug. And over the past few years the owner of the estate has picked choice items to sell off and I was ever so fortunate to acquire this.
The jug is in very very fine condition, a few minor flecks in finish can be found, I tried to point out the most major of them in the last picture, you can see it just above my finger tip, also a tiny fleck on edge of spout, and some other misc. tiny pin head or smaller flecks here and there from just existing and being, obviously well cared for.
Previous owner estimated the age mid to late 1800's
Dimensions are: Height-12-3/4 inch to top of spout about 13 to top of handle
Diameter - 8-3/4
Would make a great Christmas gift because of it's fine condition

LEFT HAND BROWN MOONSHINE JUG
****FREE UPS GROUND SHIPPING****
This jug has been in storage for decades in a barn in southern Alabama, so has the corn cob stopper used to plug the jug. And over the past few years the owner of the estate has picked choice items to sell off and I was ever so fortunate to acquire this and two other pieces.
Here is an unusual piece, previous owner dated this at early 1900,s said to be left handed moonshine jug, since it partially collapsed while being fired, you can see in picture 2 at the curve of jug about at the shoulder of jug (I call that area) a gouge that measures about an inch wide and 3/4 of an inch high, about 1/8 inch deep at deepest spot and a small surface chip at spout, otherwise in extremely nice condition. And given it's prominence, I do not see it effecting the value a great deal.
GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT!
Dimesions are:
Diameter 8 1/2 inches
Height 11 1/2 inches

For Auction is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Forest" and the shape can be called a Planter, Jardinière, or Squat Vase. The Planter stands 4 1/2" tall and is 5 1/2" wide at the rim and 4 1/4" at the bottom.
The Planter displays one of the most detailed mold Crispness I have ever seen on a Weller Forest item. Not only is the Mold Crisp but the Glaze Colors are equally as nice. The Jardinière displays a wonderful Forest Scene of Trees with lots of Foliage and a Waterfall in the background that forms a small stream snaking through the forest. The trees are done in a matt brown glaze and the Foliage in a matte green. The water is done in an ever pleasing light and dark matt blue glaze. The detail is just outstanding. The inside has a Blende Olive and Moss Green glaze and is very clean inside. The Planter sits up on 4 small horizontally raised feet on the bottom.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned as is common with this pattern. There are some signs of minimal wear to the bottom of the feet. The Weller Forest Pattern is very popular amongst Weller Pottery Collectors. This is a better than excellent example and I'm sure the lucky buyer will be very pleased with their purchase.
This piece was made during Weller's Middle Period, Circa 1918-1935.

For Auction is a very nice piece of art pottery made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Vase and the pattern is known as "Tourmaline". The Vase measures 5 1/8" tall and is approximately 6 1/4" in diameter. The inside opening of the Vase measures 3 7/16" wide.
The Vase depicts a wonderful Jade or Teal Blue/Green mottled Glaze. This piece is all about the Glaze and simplicity of its form. There are five horizontal raised rings at the upper portion of the Vase with four evenly spaced Vertical raised ribs or panels. This Vase would be a welcome addition to any Arts and Crafts or even an Art Deco Decor.
The Vase is considered to be in Excellent to Mint Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. This Vase is very clean and I believe this piece saw minimal use and was very well taken care of. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Vintage Roseville. This particular line was usually unsigned. It more than likely had an original Roseville Pottery silver foil label that fell off over time or washing. The shape number is known as 238-5" in the Roseville Catalog pages.
The Vase was made Circa 1933. « Less

For Auction is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery made in the Country of Japan. The item is a Tall Double Handled Enameled Art Pottery Vase. The Vase is quite large as it stands 12 1/4" tall and is 7 1/8" in diameter at its widest point.
The Vase displays a wonderful enameled Phoenician Scene. There is enameling of a Horse Drawn Cart with a Male Figure inside the Cart, probably Nobility. Following the Cart it appears to be a Servant with some type of warrior with a Spear and a Flag attached to the Spear. Behind the Warrior is an Elephant with its Trunk up for Good Luck with a similar Servant and Warrior behind him. The Enamel is well executed and very colorful. There are two Oriental Styled Buttressed Handles on each side of the tall cylindrical neck that rises up off the body of the Vessel. This kind of gives this an Arts and Crafts Flare with an Oriental touch!! There is enameling at the Base, waist and Neck of this Cylindrical form. It is a decorated Asian Influenced Border with colors of Deep Teal Green with Brown and Raspberry accents.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is crazing throughout the Vessel and was purposely made this way. The piece is signed with Blue/Green enameling on the bottom side. I was told by a renowned Pottery expert that this is a Japanese Signature or Cypher and was made Circa 1920-1930.
This is a quality piece of Art Pottery. Anyone who can share some knowledge with the maker of this Vase would be greatly appreciated. « Less
