It has a miniscule unpolished rough spot along the edge of the border invisible without high magnification. The diamond is set in a period 18k white gold Art Deco mounting with 12 additional diamonds averaging I color VS-2 clarity set around the yellow diamond giving the ring a beautiful flower like appearance. In addition to the 12 diamonds, there are 2 more diamonds 1 on each shoulder. The 12 diamonds bordering the yellow diamond are also old mine cuts averaging I color VS-2 clarity. The sides of the knife have a very nice engraved design and a blank cartouche on either side where one could engrave their name or initials. It has a chain with a spring set ring, the ring is marked 10K. The other end of the chain where you would attach a watch has a swivel mount marked 14k A.C.Co. This is a great vintage Art Deco fob knife with an old chain and swivel fob. The chain and swivel fob measure 13-1/2 inches long. The fob knife measures 2-3/8 inches from the top ring to the bottom of the knife. Widest width 1-1/2 inch. Weight 24.6 grams. The knife itself not including the chain weighs 17.6 grams. Unique Art Deco dragonfly diamond ruby Chrysoprase platinum 18k gold brooch clip. The Chrysoprase is associated with the Astrological sign Gemini and is considered a very fortunate birth stone for Gemini. Like the Agate, it is a variety of quartz and takes its name from two Greek words meaning "golden leek," in reference to its color, which varies from an opaque yellowish green to a very light dirty white-green. The color has a tendency to fade from long exposure to the light and sun, but can be restored if the stone is dipped in a solution of nitrate of nickel. The finest specimens come from Silesia, and when the stone was in demand it used to be customary to close the mines for every two years out of three. According the Albertus Magnus, a Chrysoprase formed the Amulet of Alexander the Great, and Chrysoprase was much used by the ancient Greeks and Romans for signet rings and cameos; and also by the Egyptians, who set it with lapis lazuli. The virtues attributed to the Chrysoprase were that it imparted cheerfulness, making the heart glad by removing uneasiness, protecting its wearers from evil dreams and the assaults of demons. It also bestowed all kinds of blessings on its owner, giving assiduity in good works, and taking away all greedy and covetous desires, bringing success in new enterprises, and true and faithful friends: and it was also worn as an Amulet against rheumatism and gout. The Agates and Chrysoprase stones will not, however, be fortunate for those born during the time that the Sun occupies the Houses of Virgo and Pisces. The dragonfly has the finest quality Chrysoprase wings money can buy. The ruby is a gem natural color and the diamonds are nice quality as well. The dragonfly measures 2 inches from the bottom of the tail to the top of the dragon, widest width from diamond wing tip to diamond wing tip 2 inches. Weight 10.4 grams.
