British Art Pottery : A George Cartlidge Morris Ware Art Nouveau Vase C.1912-20
A good British Art Pottery Bottle shaped Morris Ware Vase designed by George Cartlidge for S. Hancock and Sons
having tube lined decoration with delicate reddish flowers on long stems and having a band of leaves.
No. C30.1 - Illustrated in Johnson: The Morris Ware, Tiles and Art of George Cartlidge, plate 271

Reflections in images - the images does not do justice to this beautiful large Vase
Morris Warris was one of the main decorative ranges produced by the company. This included many tube-lined patterns which resembled the Moorcroft productions and may have been intended to compete with that company. George Cartlidge was the first designer of this type of ware but the range continued with other designers. Morris ware was much praised in the trade press of the time which noted that foreign buyers at the British Industries Fair had shown interest in the range and it is now actively collected.
Good Antique Condition - light crazing as expected and bubbling to both rim which is normal to find on the larger pieces all mentioned for accuracy
