Pair of Double Arm Wall Sconces Circa 1910-20
Lovely pair of circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique backplates, and original antique shades. These sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance with a pewter look, but a more restrained backplate design that is so typical of the Edwardian design style. Almost reminds you of an Art Nouveau...but not quite.
The metal of the backplates is cast iron, which has a lovely pewter finish.
Measurements:
* Height: 10 ½"
* Width: 10 ½" (maximum)
* Projection: 4 ¾" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with true bakelite sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, which were originally made by Leviton in the 20s, and still made up to three years ago. So these Leviton switches are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done, except add the light bulbs of your choice.
$522.50 for the completely rewired, UL approved, double-arm pair of sconces...plus shipping.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

American Art Deco STREAMLINE Sconces by Virden
Cast 1939 signed Art Deco sconces that are in the Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the Carleton Series. Virden bragged: Underwriters Approved.
The shades have the typical Streamline concentric rings, which are so very iconic of Streamline design. The shade colors are all original, and near mint.
The metal finish is pewter, and there is a touch of roughness to the frames...not serious...but as cast, and 1930s produced.
Measurements:
* Height: 7 ½" from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate.
* Width: 7" (widest)
* Projection: 4" from the wall into the room.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs were installed. The sconces have a rotary switch for on and off. Each sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price: $935.00 for the pair, plus careful packing and shipping.
$25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

Two European Cut Cameo Hanging Bowl Lights
Lovely pair of fine cut cameo ceiling bowls from the last 20 or 30 years.
We received three cameo bowls from the same home. The home owners had bought them from a European source, and we are guessing Bohemia. However...they were wired badly...against UL guidelines...and needed to be completely re-wired, and brought up to UL code standards, which they are now. Previously...they had under-sized wiring with European sockets that were non-UL approved. Now, after re-wiring in our UL shop...we have a cluster of three medium base sockets, which means you can easily install normal medium base bulbs and have up to 300 watts of lighting power. And wow...does this great quantity of light make those chiseled and finely cut designs come alive!
There are two bowls with the country scenes. These are hand-ground cameo designs, so they differ slightly. The glass is applied by a craft person choosing each color...so the colors also differ slightly. One bowl has a more BROWN coloration to the raised designs, while the other bowl has a more RED coloration to the design. Both, however, are simply outstanding. So choose either more red, or more brown when ordering.
**PLEASE NOTE: Both Red Coloration & Brown Coloration Options have sold. NO MORE AVAILABLE**
Measurements:
* Bowl Diameter: 18 ½"
* Height: 29"
This light can be shortened by removing one or two of the chain link sections, if so desired.
$715.00 each for re-wired, UL approved ceiling bowl light...plus shipping.
$50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

This is a beautiful and detailed Antique Lithophane (Lithopane) of Die Pfalz Castle. It is marked "PPM 334" on the back, and "Die Pfalz" on the lower right corner. It measures 6-3/16" x 4-1/2". The scene includes the lovely castle on the Rhine River, mountains, a sail boat, trees and people along the bank.
It is in nice condition with no cracks or chips. Please see the photos for details.
Background of the great castle: On the tiny Pfalz Island in the middle of the Rhine River near Kaub Germany, stands Pfalzgrafenstein Castle. It was built for the sole purpose of generating revenue from boats traveling along the river. While Pfalzgrafenstein is one of many toll castles on the Rhine, its location in the middle of the river on the extremely small island renders it unique. « Less

7" x 5-5/8"
There are no cracks or chips. There are two dark areas (very small) on the front that I believe just need to be cleaned. There is residue on the back possibly from glue. Please see the photos for details and feel free to ask questions.

This is a fun Antique Lithophane marked BPM #506. It is a tavern scene, with one man standing on the right side to make a toast. There are several men seated around a barrel drinking and a man serving them is standing to the left.
This porcelain art work is 6-3/4" wide and 5-1/4" tall. It is stamped "BPM," which is theorized to be Buckau Porzellan Manufaktur in Madgeburg, according to the Schiffer book Lithophanes by Margaret Carney. The letters are in script.
There are no chips or cracks, but there are two large scratches on the back at the top. There is also some glue residue there. On the front, there is an angled wavy line above the mens' heads on the right. It appears to me to be part of the texture of the old wall, which is not completely smooth like the rest of the placque.
Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Thank you for looking. « Less
