ANT-534 Unusual Art Deco Odeon Style British Motif Theatre Sconces
A very neat shell motif set of the British theater sconces from England. These sconces are often called "Odeon Sconces," since one of the main movie house chains in Britain named all their theaters "Odeon".
They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more. Odeon is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. "Let's go to the Odeon" is the same as saying, "let's go to the movies."
There are two things that make this particular pair of Odeon sconces different and unusual. First...the shades are TRUE OPAL color. We have never had opal shades in Odeon sconces before. We have seen frosted, amber, pink, and even green...but never opal. Secondly, each sconce has an array of three E12 (chandelier style) sockets. Usually, these sconces have only ONE socket. The result of having three sockets is a nice, even lighting effect, which is simply lovely through the opal shades.
The sconces have brass frames with an antiqued red bronze finish.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American chandelier sockets in our UL shop. We installed our cute LED chandelier bulbs in each sconce, and will leave them in for the next owner, as we just think that these give the perfect ambiance. So, these are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Measurements:
* Height: 8 ½"
* Width: 10"
* Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room.
As mentioned, these fine sconces use chandelier bulbs, either incandescent or LEDs. In this case, we are including 6 pcs. of our LED bulbs for these high-end sconces.
Price: $715.00 for this great pair of UL rewired Odeon sconces with opal shades and triple sockets...plus $25.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-537 Antique Restored Reticulated Frame Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces
True high-end quality original cast solid BRONZE antique frames with a lovely reddish-bronzed finish. The frame is showing a contrasting color variation, due to its age, but it does reflect the total age and care of this antique. Circa 1930.
These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were the only sconces made for this series of slip shade lights. It is difficult to cast reticulated backplates, as any casting man will tell you. The bronzed finish is simply superb.
These fixtures are in such nice condition. The shades, too, are simply in fantastic condition, with old amber finish displaying dashes of clear design.
Measurements:
* Height: 12"
* Width: 5 ¼"
* Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop, with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches with new, rotary style on/off switches...same as the original Leviton switches made from the 1920s until just a few years ago.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
Price: Completely UL re-wired, with original BRONZE finish and shades: $935.00 plus $25.00 for careful packaging and Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-540 Antique Art Deco Streamline Design Slip Shade Sconces
Art Deco Streamline design is presented with this pair of sconces. Circa 1936 or so, they are iconic for Streamline design and minimalism in lighting.
Often confused with commercial sconces, they do have that minimal function that could be confused...however...matches well with other simple Streamline designs.
While the sconce frames have been thoroughly cleaned, there is some deterioration to the metal BEHIND the shades. This reflects their age, and probably the way they were stored for 60 to 80 years. Luckily...the visible parts of these sconces are maintained rather well.
The heavy, thick shades are amber in color, and in great condition.
Measurements:
* Height: 8 ½"
* Width: 5"
* Projection: 3 ¾" from the wall into the room.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new sockets in our UL shop. We also replaced the rotary switches at the bottom of the sconce. So, these are ready to hang with a standard light mounting kit, which we will also supply.
Sockets are rated for up to 100 watts, but we recommend a conservative 60 - 65 watts if incandescent light bulbs will be used. This will help protect the fragile slip shades from excessive heat, which could potentially damage them. If more light is needed, compact fluorescent or LED light bulbs are a good substitute...these efficient bulbs operate at cooler temperatures, but emit more lumens per watt consumed.
Price: $715.00 for this great pair of UL rewired sconces, with their great Streamline design and amber slip shades...plus $25.00 for careful shipping charges to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-533 Very Nice Art Deco Streamline Metal and Glass Light Fixture Circa 1930+
While the '30s are most famous for slip shade fixtures, there were other types of lights being made during that time, including various ceiling bowls. Sometimes all glass...sometimes metal and glass...as we have here.
This ceiling bowl has some iconic touches for the Art Deco period. The standard yellow color used on so much Art Deco, and then contrasting with the nickel colored metal rims that have those grooved Streamline designs. Add to that an amber glass center with great design, and you have a different Art Deco offering. Not to forget the glass flowers on the outside of the bowl. Yes...very interesting Streamline designed Art Deco ceiling bowl that is not easily confused with a different period or motif.
Measurements:
* Height: 13"
* Diameter: 16"
We have rewired this fixture to UL American standards, in our UL shop, with new American porcelain chandelier sockets. There are two regular medium base (E26) sockets (each capable of 100 watts), but another pair could be added if more wattage is desired. Ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Price: $495.00 for this UL rewired ceiling fixture...plus $35.00 for shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ARABIA, Southern. Qataban. Yad'ab Dhubyan Yuhargib
An unrecorded pre-Islamic coin, of the greatest rarity and historical significance. In their study "Coinage of the Caravan Kingdoms" (ANS – Numismatic Studies 25, 2010), Huth and van Alfen recorded only small silver coins (hemidrachms) weighing less than 2 grams. This large silver tetradrachm of 16,25 grams gives evidence of the existence of an important trade on Arabian soil, more than 2000 years ago. Moreover, the design of this coin is original and very far from the crude imitative coins modeled after the Athenian owls struck previously in Arabia. The issue of such a large and elegant coin would have been only possible in a centralized and highly organized state with an original and strong cultural identity. « Less

ANT-542 Gothic or Arts and Crafts Style Panel Ceiling Light Hexagonal Older Gothic Lighting Fixture
Circa 1920 - 1940, the frosted glass panels are in great shape.
The Old Gold finished frame is in nice condition, with just the right amount of patina.
Measurements:
* Diameter: 20" across the points.
* Height: 29"
If the 29" height is too tall for your application...we can shorten this fixture for you. The stem is easily adjusted. We could achieve a height range between 14" to the existing 29". You tell us what you need.
Each fixture contains FIVE light bulbs. Four sockets light the side panels, and one socket is directed downward to light the bottom crackle glass window and add a little extra emphasis to the smaller side windows. The very bottom window, which is actually an access door for bulb changing, contains a different glass than the side panels. It is an old glass which is meant to direct more lighting downwards, while the four other sockets give indirect upward and side panel lighting.
This chandelier has been re-wired in our UL shop, and is ready for installation.
Price: $605.00 for the completely re-wired UL approved antique panel chandelier in great condition, plus Freight Shipping costs (due to the fragility of this item).
Freight Shipping will be calculated and invoiced separately after purchase. If you would like a shipping quote before purchase, please contact us...we would be happy to provide one!
