They are adorable pair. Staffordshire style English Spaniels dog figurines, are beautifully hand painted over white bisque, black dots and maroon bows over their necks... they are in fabulous almost perfect condition. no appearance of any kind of abuse, crack, or chip. can't identify crazing, maker or age of productions. if any, it consistent with age. presumably work of England potter, and usually in vintage era, hand painted by students and children. Very likely Victorian era, guards for the mantles or windows. they are unique, with remarkable color contrast and highly decorative. tall & short facing front and sides. they are quiet, and sweet to sit on your side or cocktail table. measuring : about 10.5 and 9" tall , 5.5" and 7" base diameter (did i mention incredible glaze) ? fairly heavy with protective felt dots on their bases. Pair of European porcelain miniature busts - Napoleon and his first wife, Empress Josephine Beauharnais. The figurine is modeled in relief with outstanding details, showing the emperor, wearing his favorite uniform of Colonel of Chasseurs Cheval de la Garde Imperial with orders of Legion D’Honneur. The empress is wearing a neoclassical garment with diadem on her head, a necklace on her chest, and earrings in her ears. Both of the figurines are painted by a fine brush with outstanding details, and beautiful colors. Bust of the Empress Josephine signed at the base with manufacturer's mark in underglaze cobalt-blue a crowned shield containing the capital “S” initial, the figure of Napoleon is unsigned. CONDITION: There is a slight visible sign of an old repaired crack around the neck of the Emperor. The bust of the Empress does not have any restorations or repairs. Beautiful little salt-glazed teapot, one of the best I've seen. This is either a child's teapot or a salesman's miniature sample. It has a cream body with self embosses pattern of daisies around the top and wicker to the lower area. Pewter hinged lid with sea-serpent finial. Internal filter holes to spout. Impressed capital letter R underneath. Excellent condition. Item measures 9.9 cm high by 12.8 cm wide handle to spout and a body of 7.8 cm diameter. Mid 1800s.   « Less

All convertible to candlesticks with removal of upper units. Undocumented provenance: Reginald West Sackville - 7th Earl De La Ware (1817-1896) Chaplain to the Queen.
