Anyway she's circa 1900 and probably from Austria though there is no mark just numbers. Looks like Royal Dux only better. As finely a detailed piece as you will ever find in this size. Beautiful and original Blanc-de-chine Chinese figure of a scholar of Lohan. Extremely well detailed and has a most interesting look on his face. His robes and hanging sash are incredible in the detail and realistic appearance. Condition is very good there is some cracking in the base as there should be and his hand is made seperately. This is the head and neck of a beautiful African woman. She has expressive eyes and painted orange lips. Her head is covered with a white scarf in a decorative manner. She is made of heavy ceramic fired in a mat finish except the eyes which are high glaze dark brown highlighted with amber coloring. She is 10 1/2'' high by 6'' wide. The condition of the scarf is slightly pitted in back which is normal in this type of pottery and firing techniques. She is not signed and although I should remember who she is made by, I can''t think of the company. This is a lovely figural centerpiece bowl that features a beautiful nymph gazing into a cascading pond. She is being gossiped to by a small cherub who is whispering into her ear. The bowl is a plaster composition that appears to have some parian mixed with it. I have seen this same piece made in pottery by Stellmacher of Austria. This may have been a plaster copy or a model. The bowl measures 12'' high by 14'' wide and it is 12'' deep. I have had it so long I can''t remember what country I bought it in, but I think it was England in the 1980''s. I have floated rose buds in it during the summer and decorative nuts and candies at parties. It is a wonderful decorative accessory.
