Antique, Edwardian sterling silver and enamel set of 6 gentleman''s buttons in their original, fitted box. Made Birmingham, England 1908, by James Fenton. Each button is approximately 12mm in diameter. Classic Edwardian luxurious quality combined with classic Arts and Crafts artistic design and workmanship. Exactly like the work of Archibald Knox, as sold by Liberty & Co. in London. Contained in a fitted blue leather box with gold trim, silk-lined inner lid and velvet bottom. Clasp in good working order. Light scuffing on lower left corner. Round buttons. Turquoise, guilloche enamel borders contain a domed sterling circle with rounded triangular design, swooping around the circle. Within, is blue and aubergine/amethyst enamel in a grape-like design. Enamel has beautiful, luminous quality. Matching rings for attaching the buttons to a shirt in their own Each button is hallmarked on the back: On top of the loop is a lion for the sterling silver standard. Antique / vintage Art Deco silverplate and bakelite teaset. Made 1920-30''s. Consists of: Tray. Measures 16 3/4 inches accross handles. 15 1/4 inches accross tray. Oval shape with straight ends. Handles at a sharp angle with bakelite semi-circles forming a very interesting play of geometric shapes where they protrude beyond the end of the tray. Teapot: 6 3/4 inches high. fan shaped base with fluting on sides, perfectly round body with arching, hinged lid and wide mouth, close to body. Handle & finial with bakelite. Milk jug: 5 inches high. same form as the teapot. Sugar bowl: a little under 5 inches high. Same form as teapot and milkjug, without handle and spout. Classic Art Deco geometric design with minimal decoration. The front and back of each piece has a ridged round disk. The lids form an element of interest as does the bakelite. The fan-shaped bases have raised centers on the sides. Construction is extremely sturdy. No makers marks found. Condition is good. The handle of the milk jug has a small imperfection in the bakelite, shown magnefied in the ''photos. The surface of the silver is in original condition with light scratchedamage to be the tray. Antique 3-pice set - silver plate nutcracker, grape scissors and nutmeg grater in original, fitted box. Made by Walker & Hall, England, 19th - early 20th century. Box measures 7 3/4 X 5 3/4 inches long. Grape scissors, the longest piece is 7 inches long. Beautiful, sturdy design. Full round handles of nutcracker with ridges to prevent slipping. Grape scissors with similar ridges. The nutmeg grater handles have a series of rounded rings, both highly attractive and practical. The cracker and grater can both turn 180degrees so that the opposite edge of the tool can be used to pick out bits of the nuts. The set comes in it''s original, fitted leather box - lined with dark blue velvet and silk. Gold ring around the top. Snaps closed and works well. Pieces are marked with W&H marks as well as pseudo silver marks. All pieces, including box, are in very good condition. The set was probably never used and scarcely opened. Victorian silver babie''s rattle and whistle with repousse winged putti / cherubs on either side. 19th century, English.Measures a little over 3 1/2inches long.Front is engraved with baby name EDNA. On either side is a bell and one end narrows to form a whistle (very loud when used). Both front and back have a wonderful repousse winged cherub clashing cymbols, surrounded by delicate scrolling foliage. Great quality.since there are no hallmarks, we assume this to be silver plate.Condition generally very good. There is a negligible ding on both sides (did baby take a bite?).
