Victorian high-style carved walnut pedestal with spiral supporting column and carved classical masks. Circa 1880s. Excellent condition but missing two acorn-shaped hanging pendants below the corners of the top, and with some tight age cracks to the central support. Original finish, some light water staining to the top's surface. Size: 37.75 inches high x 16.85 inches wide x 14.25 inches deep.   « Less

Circa 1900. Tall, elegant marble pedestal in a Classical taste. This finely grained and colored marble column has all the fine details that are found in the best pieces of this Period such as a bold "Greek Key" pattern and fine turned rings and octagon base all in a deceptively simple marble column. The two large parts are carved twists and the bottom cylinder has deep cut ovals. Estate fresh and in beautiful "as found" condition with no damage or repairs. This Late Victorian pedestal/plant stand and the other one we have just listed from the same home, both come apart for easier shipping. Circa 1900. Tall, fine marble pedestal in an unusual shape and color. This brown and white marble pedestal is a bit more elaborate than the standard Late Victorian pedestals we are used to seeing, with the top section in the form of rounded stacked shapes, then a central element that is a ring of carved leaves and grapes under which is a more usual twisted column. The turned base is an octagon with turned rings and deep oval indentations. This fine classical pedestal is estate fresh and in extremely fine original condition with no chips, damages or repairs and only light marking on the top edges from actual use. This pedestal and another that we are listing today, were locally purchased this week at a very reasonable price which is reflected in our low price but which is not a reflection on its high quality and fine original condition. 40" tall x 9" square top. Tall, elegant white marble pedestal. This fine column style marble pedestal is made of very nicely veined "Italian" white marble and consists of clean, smoothly turned sections separated by polished rings. The base is an octagon and the top is square with cut corners. This piece is fresh from a local Brooklyn New York home and is in extremely fine original condition with a beautiful soft patina on all the surfaces and only a shadow on the top surface where a lamp stood for decades and very minor nicks in the top edge. The top lifts off for moving and shipping. 41 1/2” tall x 9 3/4” square top x 12” base diameter.   « Less
