One of a small collection of antique copper pots. This one is believed to be Russian in origin and to date to either very early 19th or late 18th century. Diameter is 7 5/8 inches accross the top rim. Height is almost 3 3/4inches. Very heavy round pot. Wide curved handle with two handmade nails where it seems to have been re-attached at least a century (or much more) ago. Upper rim is rolled over. Nice patina. Good condition with minor dents as is to be expected. The copper of the handle is split in 2 places where the sides meet and one place where the copper bends. Rare copper food warmer or cooler with domed lid and amazing acorn finial. Made 19th century, origin believed to be England. Diameter, excluding handles is 10 3/8. With handles approx 13 3/4inches accross. Total height is 12 inches. Round foot with gadrooned border. The bottom holds either coals or ice as a means of preserving the temperature and has a removable top. On either side are double Classically curved handles. Rims are gadrooned. The lid is a beautiful rich copper with sunburst apex on which is an acorn finial. Great patina. Looks fabulous on any dining table or sideboard. Antique copper & brass kettle or cauldron for boiling water. Made circa 1870-80 in England. Measures approx 9 1/4 inches high and 10 inches front to back. Oval shape with curved spout with almost right-angled turns opening like a bird''s mouth. The slightly domed, stepped oval lid fits snugly into the top and has a beautiful acorn finial in brass. Heavy, solid cylindrical handle with curved sides ending in large, solid snake-head attachments. No marks to be found. Very good quality. Good, original condition with the slight dings and dents natural for a piece of this age that cannot be considered damage. Please enquire about our collection of antique copper vessels. Heavy antique copper kettle or cauldron for boiling water. Made and used 19th century. Measures 10 1/2 inches high. Round shape with curved spout opening like a bird''s mouth. The slightly domed round lid fits tightly and has a beautiful acorn finial. Heavy, very solid cylindrical handle with curved sides ending in large, solid snake-head attachments with original old nails. The lid, the front of the pot, just above the spout and the underneath of the kettle are all marked with an engraved oval mark - see ''photos. Clearly the makers took great pride in the quality of their production. Condition is generally good with a few dings which are quite natural in a piece of this age. No restoration. The only decoration is a fine figurine of a seated woman, serving as the finial on the lid. We are told that she is a Biblical figure, the Widow of Zerepath. Exceptional gold on silver serving spoon with enamel and repousse mask decoration. American, 19th century, Dominick & Haff in the Renaissance 1894 pattern.Measures just under 8inches long and weighs 2.5oz.Richly gilded silver (gilding for acidity of fruit). Large scalloped bowl, arching handle, widening twoards the fan shaped end. Scrolling foliage surrounds a wonderful mask head - possibly taken from Ancient Greece mythology. A larger version of the bearded mask is on the back of the spoon, behind the bowl. The foliage is enriched with blue-green, yellow and green enameling. Rare Meissen trivet. 19th century, German. Children at play. Diameter is just under 6inches. Stands on 3 bunshaped, gilt decorated legs. Depicts a little girl and boy, dressed in 18th century clothes, clearly very rich, at play. The girl waves a fan, while the boy, his tricorn hat almost falling off his head as he leans back to spear a large bumblebee with his sword. Various medals and the rich colouring show that they are aristocratic children. Wonderful chubby faces. Full of life and fun. Rare to find this quality painting with such a fabulous theme. Very likely outside painted (as so many of the best Meissen pieces are) as indicated by a single scratch accross the underglaze Meissen mark underneath. Impressed J102. Small, shallow chip at the back, on the side, totally hidden from view, otherwise good condition. Wavy fluted handle widens towards the rococco end. Raised gilding in very fine detail. Beautifully handpainted flowers cover the bowl and handle, both front and back. Wedgwood biscuit barrel / cookie jar with silver plated handle and lid. Measures 9 3/4inches to top of handle. Rim is 5 1/4inches accross. Deep blue jasperware with applied Classic scenes and foliage. Beautiful relief figures of ancient Greek and Roman men, women, horses, angels and chariots in various pursuits. Twisted silver handle with domed silver lid are not marked, so assumed to be plate. Great shape with very minor age cracks in some of the white - visible only under magnification. One tiny ding on the rim of the lid - in no way distracts from the piece. Marked underneath with incised Wedgwood and Made in England.
