circa: 2000 width: 26 height: 61 length: 26 This vertical four-drawer file cabinet was recently hand-crafted by a third-generation English cabinetmaker. Using the finest materials available, including a stunning selection of burl walnut and solid brass hardware, this incredibly strong file cabinet glows with a rich, classic appearance that results from a combination between traditional Georgian style design and high-quality materials. The burl walnut simply looks stunning, due in part to its striking contrast with walnut crossbanding and solid brass hardware, including swan neck style pulls and winged escutcheons. Additionally, the wood has been hand-distressed, hand-finished and hand-waxed to produce a deep, lustrous character, while the fine quality of the finish and wax will help to preserve the wood for centuries to come. The great advantage of the vertical file cabinet is that it utilizes space that often goes unused and at the same time saves more floor space than a lateral file cabinet, leaving you to enjoy a larger office. With four full file drawers, this file cabinet also offers plenty of storage space under lock and key, as all five drawers lock. Each drawer accommodates both legal- and letter-sized files and features high-grade metal rails. This high standard of quality is maintained from top to bottom, where lovely ogee bracket feet provide strong support (although other foot types can be chosen). The feet used in this file cabinet are quite thick and because of their somewhat arched design and knees, they are much stronger than straight feet, a discovery Queen Anne craftsmen made when perfecting the similarly jointed cabriole leg in the early 18th century. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 50 height: 89.5 length: 13.25 This antique style yew bookcase was recently handmade in England by a third-generation cabinetmaker as a Georgian period reproduction. From the production process to the materials used, every aspect of this bookcase is of the utmost quality. The yew, for instance, having been treated to an elaborate hand-worked finishing process, displays an incredibly rich complexion and grain, while the astragal moulding also looks quite striking. The white-painted interior provides an especially elegant contrast with the yew, while the moulding, shaped bracket feet and stylish solid-brass escutcheons help to give this English-made bookcase the beautiful appearance that its incredibly sturdy structure deserves. Both the upper and lower sections of the bookcase lock with accompanying keys, and they separate for shipping and easy movement, so this bookcase is as convenient a piece as it is useful for storing books on its fully adjustable shelves. Whether you are looking for a striking bookcase to complement your antique furniture collection, or whether you have need of a stunning yet functional item for your office, this handmade beauty is the one for you! « Less

circa: 2000 width: 83 height: 41 length: 22 This exquisite burl walnut sideboard is a newly handmade Georgian period reproduction originating from England. The burl walnut was treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a thick, quality coat of wax, which both protects and enriches the natural beauty of the wood. circa: 2000 width: 48 height: 40 length: 16 This exquisite burl walnut chest of drawers is a new reproduction handmade in England by a third-generation cabinetmaker. The inverted bow front design certainly sets this gorgeous chest apart, giving it a classy look that, when combined with the remarkably rich burl walnut, will look great in any setting. The wood itself was treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a fine wax finish, which both protects and enriches the natural beauty of the wood, and which is superior to other, cheaper forms of finishing. The solid brass swan neck pulls contrast beautifully with the walnut, while the shaped bracket feet are as sturdy as they are elegant. Of course, each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, which is one of many indicators of hand-crafted quality. Because this chest is brand new, it is in excellent condition, and would make a fine addition to any furniture collection. « Less

circa: 2000 width: 74 height: 32 length: 25 This stately oak credenza was recently English-made by hand as a Georgian period reproduction. The solid oak, which was treated to an elaborate finishing process that ended in a fine wax polish, displays a deep, lustrous complexion with a distinct grain. Solid brass swan neck pulls, a favorite of Georgian period craftsmen, contrast beautifully with the oak, while the pedestal design itself is quite elegant. There are four standard drawers, two file drawers and a single keyboard drawer in the center, while each drawer of course features hand-cut dovetails. The plinth base is quite sturdy, so this credenza will not wobble or give. The back is even finished to allow for placing this credenza anywhere you like. Lastly, the traditional pedestal design means that this credenza, in typical convenient English fashion, will disassemble into the desktop and two pedestals. « Less
