Circa 1840 Chinese Export Sacred Bird and Butterfly Dinner Plates measuring 9 3/4". The quality on each and everyone of these dinner plates is great. Their are a few flea nicks on the rim of a couple of the plates but it is hardly noticeable. Be scanning your finger on the edge of the plates is the only way you would know from viewing them. We are selling them individually at the price noted. We have many sacred bird and butterfly customers from over the years and plates like these are always in demand. Good Condition. Circa 1800 Chinese Export luncheon plate measuring 7 3/4". Very Good Condition. This plate was made for the American market. The border is nicely decorated in blue and gold. In the central portion of the plate is the drape and shield with a american eagle in the center at the top of the eagle with the drape on top. Of course there is some wear in this decoration as this plate is over 200 years old. Their is a initial in the middle of the shield which is a "B". Chinese Export Plates with armorial crests and the drape and shield pattern especially with a eagle centralized are very rare. At the moment, other than this plate the only item we have with a Eagle is a Green Fitzhugh Plate.   « Less

Circa 1800 Chinese Export Green Fitzhugh 9 1/2" Plate with the American Eagle in the center of the plate. The shield in the middle of the eagle has the Faded initials which appears to be A C. I am Guaranteeing 100% this is a Real Green Fitzhugh Plate with the Eagle Decoration dating from 1800. EXCERPTS FROM A ARTICLE: Thomas Fitzhugh was a Director of the British East India Company and spent considerable time in Canton between 1787-1800. It is thought to have been Fitzhugh who ordered a dinner service in the pattern that now bears his name, and dates Circa 1790. The pattern consists of four clusters of flowers and symbols, representing the seasons, surrounding a central motif. This motif could be a circular medallion of various designs, as in this example; It might be a coat of arms or a family crest; it might be a monogram or initials. The border was either similar to the example on this plate--A simple trelis and pendant banding, or it might be a complex design of butterflies, flowers,diaper and Grecian Key. The Earliest Versions, including Fitzhugh's Service from 1790, were decorated in underglaze blue and white. The pattern proved popular, and about C.1800, services were being ordered in overglaze colors, including orange,green,brown,black,rose and yellow. The latter three are Particularly Rare, as are Orange and Green Examples decorated with an American Eagle. The Fitzhugh Pattern continued to be made until the 1840's, although in the later stages the decoration tended to be less finely done. A copy of this article is available upon request.   « Less

Circa 1750-1760 Chinese Export Judgment of Paris Dinner Plate measuring 9 3/8" in diameter. We originally had THREE Perfect of these Plates but we had sold a identical pair to a regular customer. The one single plate left is a Beautiful gilt shell and scroll border with delicately drawn figures from the painting by Jean Paul Rubens with beautiful well executed colors of turquoise, bright green, with red and pink enamels. Very Fine Condition. This Greek Mythology was one of the great events that lead up to the Trojan War. This plate measure 9 3/8" in diameter and is 1 1/2" in depth. We Actually had four matching plates that just came out of Santa Barbara California Estate. This is the last plate as we have sold the other three plates. They came in different sizes with 10" being the smallest and some were as wide as 20" and than were often termed to as a "CHARGER". Circa 1800 Chinese Export Famille Rose with a Beautiful Mandarin Landscape Unusual Octagonal with a small scalloped border eight sided Charger measuring 18" in diameter and in Excellent Condition and Guaranteed not to have any restoration. The enamels are very good as is the finely executed artwork--bordering on Excellent grade in both the artwork and the executed enameling. I am dating this piece as a Early 19th century piece BUT I would not doubt that it is a Mid-18th century piece of porcelain. The last imge is apparently the signature of the artist that I have not been able to identify. This Charger is priced very reasonably.   « Less

Circa 1675-1700 Chinese Export Very Unusual and Rare Octagonal 8-sided charger measuring 12 1/2" in diameter. The kangxi period is from 1662-1722. Dragons, flowers birds, in garden scene with a peacock. A most unusual polychrome glaze border. The main scene of the bird and a tree is quite wonderful. The colors are just breathtaking. Excellent Quality and in Very Good Condition. Very little wear for a piece this old.   « Less
