For Sale is a wonderful piece of pottery made by Bennington Pottery of Bennington, VT. I have a "Toby Mug" or "Pitcher-Creamer". The Mug is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is approximately 4 5/8" outside handle measurement. The rim measures 3" across and 3 1/4" deep and the open gets smaller as it gets closer to the spout.
The Pitcher has a wonderful Rockingham brown glaze that is uniform throughout. The Mug depicts a Colonial Patriot holding a mug of ale in his right hand and a pipe in his left hand. He is wearing tri-cornered hat that is used as a spout or pitcher. The handle is even equipped with a thumb rest. It has an Acanthus leaf pattern on it and the leaf rolls down the handle just below the thumb rest. The bottom has what we call a "Kick Up or Concave" bottom.
The Pitcher is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned but it is a well documented form from Bennington Pottery. This Mug could be used to drink ale or beer from the side spouts and as a creamer pitcher for the front spout. It has a utilitarian use.
This is a wonderful Mug, Pitcher to find in this condition. Usually there is damage to the handle or chips to the spout. I am happy to report this Mug has none. That fact that it has survived 130-170 years without any damage is amazing!! This Mug, Pitcher will work just fine in any Early American or Colonial style decor. This pitcher was made in the mid 1800's, Circa 1840-1880. « Less

For Sale is a nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Dahlrose" and the shape is a Double Handled Bulbous Vase. The Vase has some size to it as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is 8" in diameter at its widest point which is the shoulder.
The Vase depicts a classic shape shape with a raised and flared lip accented with buttress style handles connecting the top lip to the upper body of the vessel on each side. The Vase has ivory cream colored flowers on a rough textured brown background that resembles the ground. These Flowers kind of look like Daises but Roseville decided to call this pattern "Dahlrose" These flowers flow gracefully around the upper portion of the vase. They are connected by sage green stem and leaves. This form is very desirable and shows minimal signs of previous use.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a small area along the bottom edge that is a glaze miss. The piece is not signed as these usually had a black or silver foil label or the shape number was written in a Red Grease pencil. This is a well documented pattern in the Roseville catalog pages and was known as shape number 364-6" in the Roseville Dahlrose pattern line.
This is a wonderful quality Roseville Vase that is in excellent condition. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made during Roseville's middle period Circa mid 1920's. « Less

For Sale is a lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios of New York, New York. The Item is a "Stemmed Sherbet" and it is done in the very desirable Pastel Green Opalescent color. The Stemmed Sherbet stands 3 5/8" tall and the Cup is 4 3/8" in diameter. The bottom foot has a diameter of 2 9/16".
The Sherbet display a very pleasing pastel green with Onion Skin stretched border edges. It has 10 opalescent Fingers running vertically from the bottom to the top. The Stem is applied much like the Tiffany Floriform Vase's stems were. The Bottom has a Clams Broth color and texture.
The Sherbet is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issue is in the making as there are a few inclusions or carbon spots on the inside glass. This was made this way and not damage. It is also quite common with the Pastel Line of Art Glass from Tiffany. The Sherbet displays a counter sunk Polished Pontil. This is the sign of Quality piece of Art Glass. This Sherbet is signed along the outer edge of the Polished Pontil "1281 L.C.T. Favrile" counter clockwise.
This is a wonderful addition to any Tiffany Pastel Art Glass Collection. You commonly see the Stemmed Wine Goblets. You almost never see the Stemmed Sherbets. This piece was made circa 1917-1925. I'm sure the buyer will be delighted with their purchase. « Less

For Sale is an Original Tiffany Favrile Salt made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The piece measures 1" tall and is 2 1/2" in diameter outside handles measurements. The foot or the bottom of the salt is 1 1/2" to the base of each handle.
The Salt displays a wonderful Squat Shade with 2 applied handles on each side. These handles somewhat resemble ears are look adorable with the piece. These salts have also been labeled "Mini Handled Squat Cabinet Vases" or "The Bean Pot" cabinet miniature". The Gold Favrile, Aurene Luster or Iridescence on the outside of the salt is just outstanding!!! You can see very Beautiful strong Hues of Fuchsia and Platinum Blues as well as brilliant Gold's. The Platinum to Fuchsia Iridescence on the inside bottom is like a rainbow of colors. There is a definite difference between Tiffany Favrile Salts. Some are weak in the iridescence and some are not. This salt is about average.
This Tiffany Salt is in excellent Condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is some scratches on the bottom polished side and is typical of normal age wear from use. It appears to have been taken care of through the years. The Salt is signed with the etched "L.C.T." along the bottom edge of the countersunk polished pontil in a counter clockwise fashion. The polished pontil is the sign of a Quality piece of art glass.
I would say this is the Rarest of all the Salts. It is by far the hardest to find with no damage because of its tiny ear shaped handles. This was known in the Tiffany Favrile Catalog of Table pieces as a "Handled" Salt. If you are looking for a Salt to add to your collection that is considered to be an excellent example, look no Further!! Do not let this one slip by you! This Salt was made circa 1900-1920. « Less

For sale is an original piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Cordial" but some collectors this a Toothpick Holder, Thumbprint or Dimpled Vase. The piece stands 1 13/16" tall and is 1 5/8" wide. The inside opening is 1 1/4" wide.
The Cordial has brilliant iridescence with strong hues of Platinum Blues, and some Fuchsia. It is similar to Steuben's Gold Aurene in color. The piece is accented with four indented dimples and has a small slightly flared lip. The cordial has a platinum appearance as the iridescence is that wonderful. This Cordial could be used as a Cabinet Vase. The correct application is, "in a decanter set", as Louis Comfort Tiffany designed these to be used for that purpose.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no chips, nicks or cracks. The Cordial has a counter sunk polished pontil. The sign of quality art Glass. The piece is properly signed counter clockwise "L.C.T." along the outer bottom edge just below the counter sunk pontil. There is also the number 105 lightly etched to the left of L.C.T. I believe this to be the shape number for this style cordial. This is an early piece of L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile and was made Circa 1902-1910.
Purchase with confidence as this will make a wonderful addition to any Art Glass collection or serve as the missing Cordial in a Decanter Set or simply can be used as a beautiful Cabinet Vase. « Less

For Sale is a very lovely Gold Iridescent Salt made by Tiffany Studios, New York. These Gold Favrile Salts are some of the hardest to find without damage. We collectors call this salt a "Witches Cauldron" shape. The Table Pattern that these Salts belong to in the Tiffany Favrile catalog was known as the "Gypsy" Pattern. The Salt stands 1 3/8" tall and is 2 1/4" in diameter.
This Salts display a ribbed Witches Cauldron shape with applied feet. The ribbing is graceful and the salt has a brilliant Gold Iridescence Finish with strong hues of Fuchsia and Platinum Blues. The Gold iridescence looking into the salt is just outstanding!! The top lip has a ruffled border which displays a nice Platinum Blue Color against a gold iridescence background. The Salt is supported by 4 legs that sits level on the surface of a shelf.
This Salt is considered to be in excellent original condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The side of legs don't even have a flea nick and are all nicely polished on the bottom. The only issue is a few scratches on the underside of the Cauldron shape between the legs. This cannot be seen when displayed and this is pictured. My camera is 15X and the scratches on the bottom looks much larger than they actually are.
The Gold Favrile, Aurene is simply Beautiful!! The bottom displays a countersunk polished pontil. The sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Salt is signed on the bottom with the etched "L.C.T." signature mark for "Louis Comfort Tiffany" and as a added bonus still retains its original paper label. Those of you who collect salts and want an nice example in original aged condition need to look no further. This salt was made circa 1900-1920. « Less
