Many years ago Albert Sack put a book out Fine Points of Furniture. This washstand falls between better & best! Saved from oblivion at the Brimfield antiques show this has been properly restored to show its beauty. Stand has tapering turned leg near dovetailed drawer. The lower deck is fine rich ribbon mahogany with black streaks going through the red mahogany. At this point the legs start a wonderful twisting with ring terminals at both top & bottom. The washstand has a very high dovetailed scrolling backsplash and returns. The backboard is a solid feather grain mahogany board which shimmers in the light. The top has original holes for washbowl and cups etc. We have ''modernized'' this into an extremely useful antique stand with a plate glass top (not pictured). Some restorations done to restore the piece to its true beauty. Finish is french polished, piece is Boston area c1820. Height of top surface 32'', backsplash 39'', width of piece 19''. One of the finest washstands we have owned! Status: For Sale Reference#: 141_mar2 Condition: fine Year: c1820 « Less

I was told this previously had a Wakefield Bros label underneath from former owner. The former owner also kept the cushion for another chair but I can tell you this is one comfy piece! Bar Harbor styling to large swoop of arm, natural with brown color added. Back is approx 3'' tall, width of arm is 4'', nice slant back for an extremely comfortable chair. Can be used inside in many rooms or great as a deck/porch chair. Structurally sound, no visible damage to wicker, back visually shows a twist to wicker but sits very nicely. Status: For Sale Reference#: 978_1 Condition: very good Year: c1910 « Less

Nice arts and crafts era mission oak rocker. This is made of oak and quarter sawn oak and retains its original dark fumed like finish. The back is 31'' high, the seat is 15'' high and approx 15x18''. This style rocker is generally referred to as a ladies, mammy or nursing rocker. EXCEPTIONAL Rosewood sewing stand. One of the finest pieces of workmanship we have EVER seen, anyw Each basket is tapered with fine rosewood turnings supporting the circular molded rosewood tops. The base of these ''baskets'' are turned discs of rosewood. The post is turned with rope twists on the top section, the second section is a beehive type turning which leads to a large finial. Flaring out from this are 4 legs, each leg is 5 seperate pieces of rosewood. This is a museum quality piece, finish is original and cleaned except some new turnings which have been blended to match originals. Minor old repairs to ring. This piece is made entirely of solid rosewood. I can go on and on about this great piece of Rococo Victorian furniture! Status: For Sale Reference#: 141_518b Condition: restored Year: c1850 « Less
