Lovely pair of antique Neoclassical single-arm sconces, circa 1910, in their original silver plate over pewter. These wall lamps feature an elegant backplate crowned with urns and featuring volute and foliate details. An S-shaped sconce arm extends out from near the base of the fixture, supporting a silver plated bobeche with deep undulations and an inverted scalloped edge. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switch for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace it with a new one if desired. Cast iron 1920-30 Art Deco sconces with an interesting slip-in shade on top. The shade is cut glass with a nice ruffled border and is amber in color. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. Measurements: Overall height (w/o candles) is 12 1/2”, projects into the room 4 1/2”. The backplate is shield shaped and is 4 3/4” at it’s widest point. Price is $325.00 for the pair, plus $20.00 for ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Lovely pair of Neoclassical brass one-arm sconces with original glass shades, salvaged out of Indianapolis, circa 1920s. These versatile sconces can be mounted with the shade facing either upward or downward, as pictured. Each sconce features an elegant backplate with a rope and ribbon border, and repeating flower and leaf details. A beautiful foliate arm receiver bowl supports a U-shaped arm that attaches to a simple brass fitter. The fitter supports an original bell-shaped glass shade with stripes, gadrooning, and a scalloped edge. These wall lamps are in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass; just the expected fleabites around the edges. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. They measure 4-3/4” wide, 8" tall, and have a 6" projection.   « Less

Marked with patent date and signature “M.L.P", the sconces were made in 1927 by Markel Lighting Products of Buffalo, NY. These cream-colored wall lamps are crowned by a volute and foliate top finial; below, the backplate has a seeded texture with florets, leaves, and a full flower centerpiece. Extending from the back plate, the sconce arm supports a beaded and gadrooned bobeche. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. Outstanding antique pair of Spanish Revival three-light sconces, dating from the 1920s. These Spanish Revival wall lamps feature an elegant backplate with a hammered texture and intricate details of flowers, shields, and scrolling foliage. A foliate sconce arm reaches out to support a tall, twisted rod that extends through the body and is crowned by a floral loop and finishes in a tassel finial. A round foliate platform with beaded trim is suspended near the top of the pole, supporting three delicate leaf bobeches and lights. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. Cast iron 1920-30 Art Deco sconces with an interesting rectangular “step” slip-in shade on top. The finish is pewter with high/lo accents. I like how the backplate repeats the angular sides of the shade. The shade is secured with set screws and there is a horseshoe style seg at the back, which notches into the shade with the back set screw. An interesting adaptation. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique sconces with original Art Glass antique shades. These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style. The original antique shades are also so very nice. They are an ivory color with clear applied art glass touches to each side. Tall shades and the design on the art glass shades seems to match the shapes found in the metal backplate. A nice combination indeed. The metal, of the backplates, is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm and they draw so little electricity (1.6 watts) that we have known folks that leave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000 - 30,000 hours. However,,,if a stronger light is desired....we suggest a tubular S-10 bulb which is the same kind of tubular bulb often used in desk lamps. It gives a balanced light for this longer shade. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches, by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this. Measurements: The overall sconce height is 11 1/2”. The maximum width (shade) is 4 1/2”. It will project into the room, from the wall 6 1/4”. The backplate, by itself, measures 11” tall by 4 1/2”. Lovely set of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique sconces with original ribbed glass antique shades. These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style. The original antique shades are also so very nice. They are a tan color outside with a white color inside...like a cased glass shade....all matching. The metal of the backplates is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish.
