George Arthur Hays (1854-1945) cow landscape oil painting. Measures 15 x 21 inches framed. Small old repair, signed lower left. Bio from RogerKingFineArts.com. George Arthur Hays (1854-1945) is one of Rhode Island's most popular 19th-century artists. He was born in Greenville, New Hampshire and spent his adult life in Providence, keeping a studio at the Woods Building on College Street. Hays was a member of the Providence Art Club, where he exhibited from 1888 to 1940, the Society for Independent Artists, the Copley Society, and the Providence Water Color Club. Self-taught, Hays painted in oils and watercolors and is best known for tranquil landscapes featuring cows and sheep. Records indicate that he painted scenery for "Keith's Circuit," and for Boston's Park Theatre in 1887. His works have an enduring charm that have endeared them to generations of collectors, and his penchant for depicting grazing livestock, whether singly or in flocks, in bucolic settings, seemingly never flagged. Stylistically, Hays' works seem to derive their inspiration from the Barbizon School and French animal portraiture, an offshoot of the Barbizon tradition that dignified work animals, imbuing them with a sense of patient endurance and uncomplaining service. Hays often created companion paintings, one of sheep and another of cows, but rarely combined the two animals within the same composition Shipping extra. A fabulous antique five-light chandelier in its original silver plate and fitted with Sheffield style glass shades. From a house in Indianapolis, Indiana, this chandelier dates from the 1920’s. It begins with a silver plated canopy ornamented with leaves, coming down in a chain to a torsade loop finial with foliate accents. The arms are linked by a twisted silver band, and each arm supports a black shade holder with a Sheffield style shade. The chandelier finishes in a cluster of leaves with a faceted crystal ball at the bottom. This light fixture is in excellent condition and the glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 22†wide and approx. 22-1/2†tall, and the fixture is approx. 38-3/4†long overall.

Antique : A wonderful Cauliflower Teapot - 19th century
A wonderful Cauliflower Teapot (identical the the National Trust Teapot - see link) - From a good Private source
Circa 19th century - internally has 6 spout holes that appear uneven, pottery is quite thin and has a 'W' hand incised into the clay.
7 inches (18cm) width X 5 inches (12.5cm) height approx
Good condition - finial has been off and a small narrow flake inside rim where lid sits - Has some line on base but the do not go through to the other side and the pot when tapped sounds fine (mentioned for accuracy). We have not tried to clean it but believe that the brown crazing internally will come out easily
