Great tall back on this Stickley form mission oak rocker. We believe this chair to be a JM Young production model with form being from Gustav Stickley''s workshop. Retains original spring cushion seat newly covered in high quality light brown leather. Rich chestnut brown color to wood, rocker has been properly glued up where loose. Nice pinned construction throughout. Back approx 35'' high. Front posts are mortised through arms and oak pinned. Outline of original paper label 2x3'' on back interior. Chest of drawers, 1815, reeded square post over turned leg. Front legs are reeded on face, four drawers of beautiful flowing mahogany. Swell front chest which is a very clean old or original finish. Minor flaws (paint rubs, top has minor blemishes), finish can be properly cleaned for additional fee. Original hardware was changed at some point to a smaller backplate so each pull area has a nicely filled holes. Grape patterned backplates, hepplewhite oval style; note I can order lgr size from ball & ball or horton. Chest measures 41 1/2 wide, 21 deep and 42 high. Antique New England chair, slat back with urn finial. Nice wear to front stretchers from generations of families putting their feet up. New splint seat painted a tan color, new windsor green paint over black hiding the old wood. Sadly the original paint was taken off years/decades ago and an extremely poor paint put on. We''ve taken that off without affecting the wood and done a proper paint job. Chair has not been ended out, seat at a respectable 16 1/2'' which could be slightly raised by the addition of felt pads. Writing surface has been refelted in blue, can be done in tooled leather for additional amount. The desk section is over a 3 drawer base with walnut veneer burl oval panels, original teardrop pulls and drawers are flanked on each side by fancy carvings. Washstand is approx 17'' d, 31'' w and 29'' h (deck), the backsplash is a nice tall 13'' so total height is 44''.
