Oil painting on canvas portrait of a girl in profile, with a blue print dress and bow tied braid, by either Fannie (1858-1931) or Jennie (1872-1961) Burr. Fannie and her younger sister, Jennie, both artists, were born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Their father was a very successful farmer. Although the 2 sisters were 14 years apart, they were very close. They began drawing when children. Each attended and graduated from Mt Holyoke College and the Yale School of Fine Arts. After that, Fannie studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. List in Who Was Who in American Art by Peter Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT. Catalogue of work produced by The Connecticut Gallery Inc. This painting was acquired directly from an heir to the estate. Image is 12.5" x 15.5"; frame is 15.75" x 18.75". One of a pair. Signed Burr on back and dated in pencil verso 1898.

A beautiful antique five-light chandelier with prisms, dating from the 1930’s, in its original silver plate. The chandelier begins with a simple silver plated loop atop a trumpet-shaped glass piece; below, five sleek, silver plated chandelier arms extend from the chandelier body, each supporting an elegant glass bobeche. Each bobeche is hung with a smooth clear teardrop prism, and the arms are connected by a garland of round beads. A long teardrop prism hangs from the center of the chandelier. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 20†wide and 19†tall (body only), and the fixture is 29 ½†long overall.

Two matching antique American leaded glass windows, circa 1915, with wheel-cut stars. Each window features a variety of beautifully textured clear glass, including granite glass, a geometric glass, and ribbed glass. The middle of each window features a hand-cut starburst, with a beveled diamond shape at the top and bottom of each window. These leaded windows were originally designed as sidelights and could be used in a variety of applications. They are in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. Each window is 14 3/8†by 66 ¼†overall, with a frame 1 3/8†thick. The glass itself measures 10†by 60â€. THE PRICE LISTED IS FOR EACH WINDOW; THERE ARE TWO AVAILABLE.

A fabulous pair of antique single-arm sconces, circa 1920’s, in their original polychrome finish with red and green accents. Each sconce features an elongated backplate ornamented with red and green leaves; the sconce arm is accented with a matching leaf and supports a foliate bobeche with polychrome highlights. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 11 ½†tall, 4 ¼†wide, and project 5†from the wall.

A hard-to-find pair of antique cast bronze figural pocket door plates with birds, by Norwalk, dating from the 1880’s in their original finish. Each recessed doorplate features a design of butterflies and stylized flowers, with a pair of birds in flight at the bottom of the plate. This Eastlake pocket door hardware is in excellent condition. Each plate measures 5 1/4†tall and 2 ½†wide. The plates are sold together as a pair.

A wonderful antique exterior sconce by J. C. Virden, c. 1930, with its original amber glass shade. The sconce features a hammered backplate with a rectangular arm; the arm is accented by stylized fleur-de-lis. The shade holder features a sloped, hammered roof with a crackled amber glass shade below. This wall lamp is in excellent condition; the shade is also in excellent condition with just the expected fleabites around the rims. The sconce has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconce measures 12†tall, 6†wide (backplate is 4 ¼†wide overall), and projects 8†from the wall.

A gorgeous pair of antique Art Deco slip shade sconces, dating from the 1920’s or 1930’s. The sconces feature a scalloped backplate with an asymmetrical floral design. The slipper shade is also ornamented with flowers and scallops mirroring the shape of the backplate. The shade is held in place by a decorative metal band. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; the shades are in very good antique condition with some fleabites around the edges of the shades. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. Eight matching antique cast iron 4.5†hinges with steeple finials, circa 1870’s. Each hinge is ornamented with stylized leaves on a textured background; the knuckles are also ornamented front and back with a double helix design. These Eastlake hinges are in excellent condition and have been lacquered to protect the finish. Each hinge measures 4 ½†wide overall, 4 ½†tall, and 7 1/4†from finial to finial.
