For sale is a nice Arts and Crafts shaped planter made by The Zanesville Stoneware Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The planter Stands 2" tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter. The inside top opening measurement is 4 5/8" in diameter. The planter has a wonderful Arts and Crafts shape of a Mission Style Bowl or Planter. The Glaze on this piece is just outstanding. It is very Similar to Weller Pottery's "Matte Cucumber Green" Glaze. This is the Green everyone is looking for!!
The Planter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks, or dings. The only issues are very minor. There are some glaze pin pops and some irregularities in the making. You can also see the mold line. This is factory and Not Damage. The piece is unsigned but it does display that Zanesville Sandy Bottom Beige Clay. This is known as shape number 78 in the Zanesville Pottery Catalog pages and was called a Flower bowl.
This is probably one of the most sought after Glazes in the Zanesville Stoneware Pottery Line. This would look just outstanding on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. The Planter or Flower Bowl was made, Circa 1912-1920. « Less

For sale is a lovely piece of pottery made by the Peters and Reed Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a Vase and this glaze is known as Landsun. The Vase is very tall as it measures 11 1/2" tall and is 4 7/16" wide at the base. The outside rim measurement is 2 9/16".
The Vase has an earth tone decoration that resembles flames and blends from one color glaze to the next. It starts as a light mustard yellow at the top bleeding into various shades of tan and brown. This is accented with a cobalt blue blending into green and cream at the middle portion of the vase. It then has another band of the deep blue with brown in the middle of these flame type shapes and is finished off at the base with blue green to a sandy brown.
The piece is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned which is typical of this line. It is guaranteed to be Vintage Peters and Reed from the Landsun line. This simple form and glaze combination would look great in Arts and Crafts decor.
Peters and Reed Pottery (1897-1919) was bought out in 1920 and the name was changed to Zane Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio. They still produce some of the same styles as Peters and Reed. They changed from Red Clay to White Clay Products in 1926. Frank Ferrel designed this Line for Peters and Reed. He was employed there from 1906-1918. In 1918 he left Peters and Reed to work for Roseville Pottery.
The piece was made Circa 1910-1915. « Less

For Auction I have a Wonderful piece of Art Pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is called "Dogwood II" and it is done in their Smooth Version. The Shape is the Highly Collected and most desirable "Jardinière" Shape. The Jardinière Stands 6 1/4" tall and is 7 1/2" in diameter.
The Jardinière has a very nice Smooth Olive to Moss Green Glaze that is accented along the bottom with a Brown under glaze giving this piece that organic feeling of the Ground or Dirt. There is a Cluster of Three Dogwood Flowers with a 4th on one side and Two Horizontal and 1 on the side on the back side. The Black Branches connect each Cluster of Flowers. For Auction is a lovely Art Glass Vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Disapora" and the form is a Pinched or Thumbprint Flower Vase. The Vase is a good size as it stands 7 5/8" tall has a diameter of 4 3/4" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 3 1/4".
The Vase has a very Art Nouveau Shape. It has Five Pinched Thumbprint Indents along the bottom Third. The Vase displays a very beautiful Candia (Gold) Silberiris Diaspora texture which resembles Moon Craters throughout the vase. Silberiris refers to the addition of a highly iridescent finish, either silver, pale blue, or a deeper blue. It has a rolled over fire polished top lip. The iridescence is just outstanding as you can see vivid colors of Golds, Platinum Blues and very strong Fuchsia. The Base Glass is Clear with the Gold Applied decoration.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The bottom does display a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the mark of a quality piece of art Glass. The Vase is not signed but it is a very well documented Loetz Decor. The Vase is very clean outside and in as It shows minimal signs of use. These taller and larger Loetz vases were often knocked over and very few of them survived without any damage. This vase has no Damage what so ever.
This is a very nice vase that is not so commonly found. The decoration is brilliant and well defined. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was known as Candia Diaspora in the Loetz Catalog. This Vase was made circa 1902 and is considered the early years for Loetz. « Less

For Auction is a Beautiful piece of Carnival Glass made by the Fenton Glass Company of Williamstown, West Virginia. The pattern is known as "Grape and Cable" and the shape is a Ruffled Bowl. The Bowl measures 3 1/2" tall and is 7 7/8" in diameter.
The Bowl depicts plump clusters of Grapes with stippled leaves hanging from a vine that appears to be growing on a detailed cable. This pattern is very similar to Northwood's Grape and Cable however the Fenton Pattern is much more bold. The bowl has a ruffled and saw tooth edge that makes it confusing to newer collectors. There are three smooth ball feet to give this beauty some added height and a smooth exterior. The color of this gem is Amethyst and there is iridescence on the interior and exterior. You can see hues of Blue, Gold, Purple, Green and Fuchsia with no loss to the iridescence that I can see.
The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned but guaranteed to be Vintage Fenton.
The piece was made Circa 1920-1925. « Less

For sale is a very lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Bon Bon or Finger Bowl" and it is done in Tiffany's highly sought after More »
For sale is a very lovely piece of Art Glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Bon Bon or Finger Bowl" and it is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Gold Favrile Iridescent Glass. The Bowl stands 2 3/8" tall and has a diameter of approximately 4 3/4" at it widest point. The foot has a diameter of 2 3/4" at it widest measurement.
The Bowl displays a unique shape. It has (8) Vertical ribs along with (8) Clam shaped Finger like Tabs with small ruffles in between each of them at the bottom of the fingers. The vertical ribs divide each finger tab right in the middle. The Gold iridescence is just outstanding!! You can see brilliant Golds with very strong Fuchsia on the inside fingers and Platinum Blue iridescence on the inside bottom. The exterior is equally as beautiful. The Bowl looks metallic yet it is glass.
The Bowl is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are a few bubbles within the glass and there are some very minor scratches on the underside outer polished edge. This is typical of age wear and early glass. There is an inclusion or carbon spot in the glass just under one of the small ruffles on the inside of the bowl. There is a quarter moon shaped grooved area just under this inclusion and it is missing a lit bit of iridescence. These issues are all considered Factory and not wear or damage as this piece was made this way. These handmade imperfections can only be seen when held up to the light and is what makes Tiffany "Favrile" meaning "Hand Made" Line of Art Glass what it is.
The Bowl is properly signed in a counter clockwise fashion. It is the etched Script Signature mark which reads "L.C.T". There is also the number "212" lightly etched on one of the flat spots on the bottom. I believe this to be the shape number in Tiffany Favrile Catalog line. I show a few black and white photos taken from the Tiffany Catalog Archives showing this same bowl. Tiffany made this shape for many years. It was an early shape as is evident by its catalog number. I would guess this to have been made circa 1895-1915.
This is a quality piece of Art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Gold Favrile, Aurene Iridescence is just outstanding!! This is a very nice example of this form and color. It is amazing that this Vase has survived over 100 years without getting any kind of damage. Those of you who collect the Gold Favrile, Aurene Forms will surely welcome this fine addition.
You could use this Bowl as a Shrimp Bowl if you would like. The Shrimp would fit perfectly between the tall tabs. I'm quite sure the Buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. « Less

For sale is a Lovely piece of Art Pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This Vase is known as a "Onion Bulb" Bud Vase and is Shape number #645 in The Van Briggle Catalog Line. The Vase Stands 4 1/4" tall and is 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest point. The Vase is made in one of Van Briggle's most highly collected glazes known as "Turquoise Blue".
The Vase depicts an array of Onion Bulbs surrounding the bottom of the piece. Each one of the bulbs has a swirling stem rising up from the Bulb in the shape of a Question Mark. The end of this displays a Onion Flower Bud. The soft lighter matte blue glaze with a deeper matte blue over spray on the Bulbs gives this piece that earthy realistic appearance.
The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The inside of the vase shows minimal wear and it appears that it saw very little use. There is crazing with this piece and is considered the norm with the Turquoise Blue Glaze. There is also an area to the right of the top stem that is very light in the glaze. This piece is signed on the bottom with the Impressed Van Briggle Double A Logo Mark along with "Van Briggle" in large Freehand Letters with "Colo. Spgs" underneath it. The Piece has a shellac bottom on tan dating it from the 40's-60's.
This is a wonderful form in excellent condition. Those of you who collect Arts and Crafts Design Pottery will surely welcome this addition into your collection. I am sure it will look just great on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. This piece was made circa 1940-1960 « Less

For sale is a lovely vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Pampas" and the form is a "Large Ruffled Centerpiece Vase. The Vase is quite large as it stands 7" tall and has a diameter of 10 3/4" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 5 5/8". Picture 3 shows a size comparison next to a can of Campbell's Soup.
The Vase displays a base glass that is light green in color. It is further decorated with a wonderful raised "Thread" Decor that is done in a Fishnet grid work Pattern. These threads are thick and raised up on the glass. They are actually fused into the main body as one. It is further accented with an Iridescent Oil Spot finish. The vase displays a very beautiful rainbow "mother-of-pearl" iridescence with Fuchsia tones throughout. It is accented with 8 large ruffles at the top. It is very European in design. The Pattern form and Color are exceptional. The top lip is rolled and fire polished like the American Contemporaries of the day Tiffany Favrile, Quezal, Durand and Steuben Aurene.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase does display a very nice counter sunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is very clean inside and shows minimal signs of use. You can see some scratches along the bottom edge outer rim. This is typical of its age and use.
This is a Beautiful Vase that is not so commonly found. You Loetz collectors will welcome this fine addition into your collection. This Vase was made, circa 1899-1905 and is considered the early years for Loetz Decorative Art Glass.
