c. 1946 #204-8 Pair of Roseville Zephyr Lily Cornucopia Vases in Siena
The Roseville Pottery Company has a rich history as an American art and commercial pottery company. Before the company moved their offices from Roseville to Zanesville, Ohio in 1898, peddlers included their pottery pieces among the necessities and occasional luxuries that they offered housewives from door to door. Roseville catered to this market by offering a “Canvaser’s Outfit†that offered a miniature cuspidor and umbrella stand “finished in blended colors, artistically decorated represent[ing] exactly full size ware.â€
Roseville began producing art pottery in earnest at their Zanesville plant in 1900 under the direction of Ross Purdy. The new pottery was named Rozane and it came in a brown finish, a light finish, a monochromatic soft brown and a blended finish similar to the Aurelian line of its chief competitor, Weller. Most pieces of this period were artist-signed.
Purdy was was succeeded in 1904 by Frederick Rhead. He created some of the most highly sought after early lines, but, sadly, he left the company in 1908. By 1914, the Rozane Art Pottery line was discontinued.
The majority of Roseville Pottery was produced during the 1920s, 1930s and early 1940s. During this time, the company’s art director, Frank Ferrell, introduced such popular lines such as Wisteria, Sunflower, Futura and Ferrella.
After WWII, times and tastes changed and Roseville attempted to launch a line of modernistic dinnerware that never really succeeded and the company was forced to close and liquidate its assets in 1954.
These are a pair of cornucopia vases #204-8 in the Roseville Zephyr Lily pattern. They would be an elegant addition to any Roseville collection. « Less

This beautiful cup and saucer was created by Haviland in the hand painted Laserre pattern. It is an authentic set. This pattern was discontinued in 1966, having been produced between 1958 and 1966. This particular set was created in 1958, identified by the mark ("Mark U") found on the pieces. There are also factory marks (23,45 and 27) on the pieces. The lovely blue flowers lie nicely against an eggshell-like background with delicate gold leaf bordering rims and detailed on both the foot of the cup and the handle.
The cup measures 4", while the saucer is nicely balanced at 5 3/4".
There are no imperfections in these pieces and will complete the set you may already have or make a wonderful gift.
Haviland dinnerware won many awards for quality at world exhibitions. Created from the white "kaolin" clay mined in the Limoges region of France, David Haviland designed and produced dinnerware that was used in the White House by several presidents. One of the most famous and recognizable features of his work is the unique quality and color of the porcelain.
Haviland china is very collectible because of it's historical and artistic significance.

This extremely rare and delicate, intricately hand painted set of small dishes measures 3" long and 1.25" high to the top of the applied, hand painted and incredibly detailed rose and leaves on the edge of the scrolled, gold leaf rims. The interior of the footed bowls are each handpainted with an equally detailed rose. Softly drawing your finger across the rose you can feel the small ridges the brush strokes made! Each is unique with slight variations as they are handmade and painted. Possible purposes for these bowls - aside from being exquisite collector's pieces - may be for nuts, condiments or perhaps butter pats.
Bottom stamp simply reads "Handarbeit Germany" These beautiful pieces are in extraordinary condition with only slight crazing on the interior sides of the bowls. There are no chips or cracks apparent. « Less
